What's new

Jazz VS Spurs @ 8:30 on Root Sports, ESPN 1280 AM/ 97.5 FM

It was that second unit and the energy they bring that changed the game. The defense was superb, the energy was sky high, they trusted in the pass, and just played beautiful basketball!

That sequence with DeMarre (I think) to Millsap to Hayward for a 3 was just like we've been seeing lately! Just so much better than the first 15 games!

Do you think they practiced defending the spurs pick n roll?

While they have been decent on the pick and roll, i have seen the spurs miss lots of open looks that they got from the pick and roll..... the spurs are luckily just off tonight.

Duncan tripping on his shoelace=big time lolz.

And why the hell did watson foul parker on that play? Parker was like 30 feet from the hoop and duncan was on the floor.

Someone needs to make a gif of duncan lassooing his own shoe with his shoelace.

Carroll off tonight but playing great defense.... favors showing some rust.

Marvin has been pretty bad in this game.
Seems like marvin has been one of the worst rotation guys on the team lately, although i hear a lot of people praising him from time to time so maybe im just wrong about that.

He played some decent D there in the second quarter but has a tendency to defer.

True, but we're at least running out on them. They're still shooting 44.4% from three.

Jazz are going under on P&R, not hedging like they usually do. Forces Parker to choose to shoot the 20 footer or not. Certainly a better option than giving up layups.

How about Millsap the last three games? He has just been so good! This game already: 13, 8, 4, 1, 1 on 6/7 shooting +9, and he's playing aggressive D and hustling! This is the guy we all love.

On the bright side, The Jazz have also been missing a lot of close shots on breaks etc and had a few silly turnovers. Jazz still with room for improvement as well.

Parker and duncan missing wide open shots that they normally hit has me worried for the 2nd half.

I'm fine with those. They are certainly better than the wide open layups they experienced during the entire first round last year. If you are on defense open shots aren't acceptable, but if you don't have a choice you should give them the jumper. Duncan is not Malone, and Parker is not Steve Kerr.
