Jazz vs T-Wolves - 7PM MST

Locke was saying the jazz are 29th in the league in fast break points. That is shocking to me. All the young players, the home court altitude advantage, everyone sharing minutes .....puzzling why they don't run more.
Also puzzling is how the jazzz got beat down the court time after time.

Locke Qoute of the night, There is a new 4 th member of our post game show tonight that I've never seen before and it looks like a Johnson.

Pretty good move by Corbin IMO. I hate when Hayward starts games with long mid-range shots.
Isn't that every game? Gordo should never have the ball in his hands in halfcourt sets. Park his *** in the corner, and see if he can find his lost spot-up game. It was fun watching him fall asleep on defense throughout the first tonight as well. He's bringing virtually nothing on a consistent basis.

Twitter reporting that Hayward bailed out of the locker room and avoided media

I couldn't find a tweet about this, who said it?

At some point hay wired has or will realize that he is not going to get an offer like the jazz made him in October. I wonder if the young man has enough character to recognize it is his problem, or will he turn his frustration into blaming Ty or the Jazz? It could lead to some great drama.

Hope he doesn't take it out on his fiancee.

He needs to play moar. With each shot, our tank chances increase.

Just got back from the game. Row 22 so I saw a lot of things.

Sorry AK47 homers, but stick a fork in Andrei Hayward, he's done. I've never seen such horrible body langusge. Constantly looking down at the ground, sulking, hands on the hips, and he sat 2nd from the end of the bench. Some of this might be frustration with Ty and with his own suckage. But ultimately it looks to me like he's either a broken player or someone who has clearly quit on this team and wants to bail.

No one has confidence in him anymore. Even my friends sitting with me (one of them isn't even a nba fan) said that his shot was ugly.

Hell, I'd go for an AK47 like performance these days. Hayward is literally giving us nothing. Raja Hayward is a complete liability on the court. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him benched and have Alec start.

Want more evidence of Hayward's quit? How many times did Brewer best him down the court for an easy dunk/layup? Hayward was off pouting/living in brain fart land while his man sprinted down the court.

Burks didn't have it tonight. The crowd visibly got excited when he came in. But he just didn't have it. And he sucks at defense.

Marvin is softer than tissue paper. For as much crap as kanter gets about his defense, Marvin's soft defense is just as bad.

Jefferson tried... Just doesn't have it. And he sucks at defense.

Burke was ok. He needs to use Favors when he comes back. Burke can penetrate but he needs a big finisher inside to bail him out. He can't finish inside like many other PGs. Too short. And he sucks at defense.

Kanter is awesome offensively. Still struggles with a few chippies inside. Crowd gave him a near standing ovation when he came out late in the 4th. Clearly the only jazz player who gave an effort.

Kanter part B: I do think the language barrier hurts him. A few times Alec got a lil frustrated with him. He would motion for him to come to the wing and set a screen and Kanter either wouldn't come or would come late. It was like kanter didn't know what Burks was signaling.

Kanter part c:He posted up literally every single time on the right side.

Gobert needs more burn. Doesn't suck at defense.

Corbin was good with the Hayward benching. However, he sucked when it came to Love. Jeremy Evans and Marvin Williams couldn't come close to defending love. Bad use of timeouts and didn't rip anyone for letting KLove kick our ***.

Which brings up problema numerio 1:

This team doesn't have an alpha dog. In the NBA, you need to have at least one player that gets pissed and takes it personal when the other team goes on a run. You see this all the time from lebron, Westbrook/Durant, Parker/Dujcan, George, Kobe, curry, Dragic, Lillard, griffin/cp3, harden, dirk, etc. someone needed to shut KLove up. In the middle of the 3rd, Ty needed to call a timeout, drop a few obscenities, and told his team that he didn't care if we lost by 30, love wasn't getting another point.

Someone on our team needed to step up and take the right to KLove.

No one did.

We just laid down and let him ravage us from the paint to the 3 pt line.

We don't have any tough guys. We don't have anyone that gets pissed. We have a bunch of "nice guys."

Again, this team needs a franchise player. And that franchise player needs to be an alpha dog who would have demanded isos, dunked on Love's head, and helped out to stuff his shot.

The closest thing we have to an alpha dog is Burks. And he's our 6th or 7th man. And sucks at defense.

Sigh

We play zero defense, that's why.

According to Marvin Williams, the up-and-down nature of the Jazz’s play makes a Minnesota loss extra frustrating.

"We’ve been doing it all year," he said. " … Win two, lose two. Win three, lose three. But you’ve got to go to work every day. When we get on a winning streak, I think we do that. When we get on a losing streak, sometimes I don’t think we play as hard as we can."

My question is... why?

Why don't you play as hard as you can?

I don't get it. Isn't bball for thousands of dollars for a few hrs motivating enough? Hayward made $42 grand for this clanker he had tonight. I'm sure Marvin and co made as much if not more.

How do you not play hard when you get to play a fun sport for more money in a few hours than what most people make in a year? I played bball for years without making a cent from it. I loved the game and I loved the competition. I just don't understand players like ostertag, AK47, Hayward, Marvin,'etc don't play as hard as they can. Don't you folks love bball?

I don't get it
