Jazz vs. Thunder- LETS CRUSH THESE PUNKS

You gotta love Jamal Tinsley. Crazy reflexes on that move.

I wonder who will phisically dominate Kanter first in the league, since it's not Mohammed nor Bynum either.

....I think Corbin's strategy for not playing the kids early on was.....he was saving there legs for the stretch run and the playoffs!!!

No, the original analogy was better.

At this point Kanter has pretty much played against every team and no one has physically dominated him. If Bynum cant then the only guy with a chance is Howard. I just dont see anyone physically dominating Kanter.

I thought Carroll gave the Jazz some decent minutes last night. He seems like a good defender and a hustle player.

I wonder what would have happened if they would have put Evans on KD when he was playing the 4.

Durrant is faster than he is tall, (in a manner of speaking) so CJ and Hayward are probably better choices than Evans. (trying to match his speed rather than height)

I have to say, I liked what the jazz did in the last 5 minutes. Kept running the same play:

Harris brings it up, passes to Gordon in the wing, then Gordon gets it to either Millsap or Jeffy, but not just to post up or isolate. And Hayward even drives by Harden when the rest of the Thunder is worried about Sap and Jeffy.

Last points for the jazz:

Jeffy makes an open 18 footer
Millsap dunk on a great Hayward pass
Hayward makes 2 ft's after blowing by Harden
Millsap drains an 11 footer
Jeffy makes a layup on a great Hayward pass

CJ makes 2 ft's to seal it.

Only 3 missed shots in the last 5 minutes, and they were good shots, except for Hayward launching that 3,
Jeffy and Sap each missed an open J.

That's great offense to finish.

So......are we a playoff team? Maybe so....maybe so

I was impressed with Hayward in the last minutes of the game on his quiet contributions on both ends of the court.

There is a lot of truth in this even though it is in jest. Corbin has chosen to play the kids an appropriate amount of minutes which is a reasonable combination to develop them, reduce injuries, rest the vets more and allow most of the team members the chance to learn the team defense.

Millsap is looking rejuvenated.
All 4 bigs are rotating on D very well.
CJ contributed well the last two games (had we just played the kids, he'd be sulking in the corner by now - yet he plays a significant role in winning last two.)
I think we maximized our trading opportunities
And we have locker room bliss

Arguably Corbin has used the right strategy!!! (had to add some exclamation points.)

Did anyone notice that reviewed play where Hayward struck the ball and Durrant flung it out of bounds? I think that's the first reviewed play I've ever seen where the refs clearly made the wrong call after the review. I seriously couldn't believe they didn't overturn that call. Luckily OKC didn't score off that possession, but good grief. Hayward's arm blocked down, the ball flung up from Durrant's fingers. An unbelievable miscall by the officials.

I want to say that was Cyrone Torbin in the chatbox on Jazzfanz last night. Something about the downward force being less than the upward force.

Yes. If the ball is deflected with a downward force that is less than the upward force, the ball is still going to travel upwards. It will veer off slightly, but the motion of the ball will still be up. Some people where like "OMG the ball is going up and Hayward hit down, so it must be off DURANT!!!" which is just idiotic thinking.

The call was made on the floor as OKC's ball. The review was pretty inconclusive. I for one couldn't definitely say who the ball was off of. Like in the NFL, these cases needs clear video evidence to be overthrown. There was none.

but the vector of the upwards force(durant) was higher that the downward force. so to conclude jazz ball.
good thing we won.

no you are the idiot, and they are right

the ball in free flight does not have more force than the hand.
if it did, people would be breaking their hands in every game just catching the ball

the only way the ball could have gone out of bounds like that is if durant was pushing it in that direction.
besides the video shows that the ball had not left durants hand when hayward hit it
