I _______________ pledge the following for the 2013/2014 Jazz basketball season.

I understand that this is a rebuilding year. While I am a fiercely loyal fan and ultra competitive I recognize that the Jazz are going to finish near the bottom of the standings this year. This is largely by design of the front office in an attempt to land a franchise player via the 2014 draft. I understand and accept this reality as being good for the long term health of the Jazz and my interest in them.

I will cheer for every Jazz win and hope for victory every game. However, I will be thankful for each loss.

I understand that the Jazz will be fielding a team of very young players. While the potential is high, it's to be expected that such young players will have struggles. I accept that these players are going to have flaws exposed in extended minutes, but, I understand that they are not finished products. They will be working to improve their game and address these exposed weaknesses as the years progress. The only time I will come down hard on a player is if they just seem lazy or stupid. Civilly pointing out flaws is not coming down hard on a player.

I understand that coach Corbin is being dealt a very raw hand here. I will not criticize him for losing games, that's to be expected. Other avenues of critique are fair game.

I will enjoy moments of brilliance to the fullest. During long periods of ineptitude I'll focus instead on the 2014 draft.

If I am at a Laker game and see someone in a Laker Uniform at Energy Solutions Arena I'll take a moment to invite them to move to California so that they may more easily support their team.

Does "losing games while playing Richard Jefferson and Andris Brickins" constitute "other avenues of critique"? I'll tolerate losing games with the youngsters but not if he starts playing these dead horses more than 15 mpg.

I won't sign it.

I root for a win each game and will critique where I feel it is valid. I fully embrace the youth movement.

Dunno bro. I'm getting wet feet with all this pressure you're forcing onto me.

I'm down.... well done bro

What if The Jazz are merely bad this year? In other words they win 34-37 games and get the 8-12th pick in the draft.

I find this scenario far more likely than a 18-22 win season and getting a top 3 pick.

My (realistic) dream scenario is that they compete for a playoff spot.

Nothing changes..... basically what is being said is that this year is a win win situation in every way and that we as jazz fans need to try to just be happy with this young team no matter what

I think anywhere from 30 to 40 wins would be a disaster. But, I don't expect the Jazz to win more than 28.

I like it...but can you also add the following language to the pledge:

1. I promise to stop creating new Jimmer trade proposal threads.
2. I promise to stop creating new Paul George vs. Gordon Hayward threads.

Thanks!

Just bad enough to miss the playoffs. Just good enough to wind up with a 2nd-tier player in the draft. This is my exact nightmare.

I pledge to get pissed off whenever I feel like it. I pledge to praise them as Gods among men when they beat a mediocre team by 25 and decry them as no-talent good-for-nothing dip****s when they lose to good teams by single digits. I pledge to entertain wildly different opinions about their ability to win it all based on their most recent winning and/or losing streak, inclusive of individual player performances, and do hereby invoke the right to spout such refuse here in the pages of JF whenever I feel like it. I pledge to be a semi-fair-weather fan, but also be hopelessly devoted to them enough that when their 3 game winning streak is broken playing Miami in Miami and losing on a last-second shot, I will get depressed for a week.

I pledge to be a Jazz Fan.

Yeah Jimmer is totally better then George, no comparison and we should trade our whole team for him. </Sarcasm>

Count me in and I hope we have a great year of player development, bonding of our young players (so they want to stay together) and many loses to get a great player in the lottery.

Someone please make an alt of that guy who complains at how awful the season is going, how horrible the team is at closing out, big leads blown, etc.
