Martin Eden by Jack London and on the long run Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

Both are going great.

I am on book 3 of the wheel of time series and really enjoying it.

A few months ago I read "the road" by jack London...... good, but wierd

It is the second best fantastic-fiction series I have read. First being Lord of the Rings.

Jack London lived a weird life.

Okay so I just read "The way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson. I think this guy just became my favorite author. This book was awesome. I have really enjoyed every book I've read by him but this book was maybe my favorite book ever. 1254 pages and I had a really hard time putting it down for the last 600 or so while still being greatly entertained throughout the entire book.
.
Just thought I'd share.

Next in line on my Kindle. Well, after the 3 I am working on at the moment. :)

A fairly sophomoric book that ranks HIGHLY for me when advising a read for young entreprenuers..

The E-Myth.

Last two....

I saw that Ron Paul book in a dingy book shop earlier this year in another state and couldn't pass picking it up for the few quarters it was because I knew it would be humorous. It just looked liked somebody printed off their computer or something and slapped on a cover. I finally got around to reading it. It's supposed to be a serious book, but it's absolutely hilarious.

Looks like it's online too actually if you're ever bored and need a laugh:

I love stephen king so I figured I would like dean koonz.
I read a book of his called Tick Tock and it was one of the worst ever and turned me off to his books.
Maybe I will have to give him a second chance

Tick tock is a very poor example of Koontz. It was in a phase when he was toying with aliens and the supernatural, which he does much better in later works. One just as bad was Winter Moon. In the 80's and 90's his agent and publisher wanted to pigeonhole him in horror, as he writes suspense very well, and he complied so to speak for a while. Then he finally sold enough that he could pick and choose where his career went. If you are new to Koontz start with one of these:

Watchers
Life Expectancy
Intensity
False Memory
From the Corner of his Eye
Sole Survivor

You can also start with Odd Thomas novels, the first being "Odd Thomas". And the he did a rewrite of Frankenstein that is pretty well done. It starts with "Prodigal Son".

King and Koontz are almost nothing alike. I like both and read both, but don't think they have much in common as far as writing style goes.

I know you know what it means, but just for clarification, it isn't a 'deep' book. It's simple, but I found it highly effective.

Game of Thrones. I burned through the first three books, but I'm stalling out on book four.

Didn't you find the tv series disappointing once you knew the book? When I wanted to find sth out during the last season and accidentally stumbled over a spoiler collection, it probably ruined half the episodes for me.
Only book I ever read and wasn't disappointed by the picture is The girl with the dragon tattoo.

Since almost every time books are better than movies (exception being Lord of the Rings, as those books are annoying to read and the shows were awesome). I'd rather read the book 1st. But in this case knowing the story line has not ruined the show for me. Now in the case of Stephen King Books made into movies....The Movies always leave you saying WTF that was a good book just destroyed by that horrible movie.

Koontz is amazing. But he does have a few stinkers. I've ready ten or so of his books. My favorites are Strangers, Watchers, Mr Murder, Fear Nothing, Seize the Night and The Taking.
