Jazzfanz.com Fantasy Basketball 2010-2011

13th pick and i missed the draft F my life I have Rajon Rondo and Andrew Bogut as my two top players. The only saving grace is the Auto Pick still landed me Andrei. For that I give praise.

He scheduled the draft for 3 PM mountain time, i already left for the game and anyways doing a fantasy basketball draft could be the furthest thing from my mind

i had no problem with the previous time he had scheduled before he changed it at the last second. i couldn't belive he scheduled it on a saturday late afternoon.

it's ridiculous, i might boycott this league because of it

I'm sorry for the mix up. I just recently got a new job and I wasn't exactly sure what my schedule was going to look like when I set the draft time. I found out I had work when it was originally scheduled just a couple of days before. We had done Saturday drafts before with relatively good turnout, so I was hoping it wouldn't be too big of a problem for most. The thought that some may be attending the games (rather than watching them on TV) honestly didn't cross my mind. In hindsight I wish I would recognized the conflict. I didn't hear any objections to the new draft time, so I figured it was fine for everyone (a majority did show up). My bad.

If you choose not to participate I guess that's your choice. But it was an honest mistake, so hopefully you will.

It's OK, I realize you aren't from Utah so you didn't forsee the conflict with the football games. My autodraft team is actually not bad with a couple nice defensive players, though it clearly lacks the a scoring punch so it'll be tough to win, but i'll try and remain active.

Is everyone in the high rollerzz league aware of the roster settings?

You get 34 games played per week. So, you dont want to just rotate in guys from your bench at every chance. This makes you pick and choose who you start because each start counts towards your total for the week.

Hopefully everyone read through the settings before they joined the league but I just wanted to post this here before the season starts so that nobody freaks out.

The first matchup is a week and half long so you get 64 games played this matchup.

This right here in the reason I prefer ESPN leagues to Yahoo. It because there are limits on games played you can't just play who ever. And if you have an injury or 2 you don't have to drop good players just to try to keep up.

Thanks, I am used to it being yearly for ESPN, but will adjust accordingly. So dont play your scrubs to much huh?

The yearly one is mostly for Roto leagues. The Amount per match up helps with people just putting who ever out there to get stats.

You got to understand, I've been practically blind the past 3 weeks since my eye injury. I saw 3 pm MST and assumed it was still on Sunday. Who the beep does a draft in the middle of a day on a Saturday?

Because I had to give you another reason to complain about me. You've been too nice to me lately...

Definitely a little more strategy in this type of league. Unfortunately, I usually run out of games at the end of the year in ESPN leagues so weekly will probably help me.

Hey dudes in the high rollerzz league...

I found a loophole in the rules that I am going to exploit. I posted a note about it on the front page of the league so that we dont have any sirarchiekickymosesass fights in our league.

Check out the note in the league to see what im talkin' bout willis.

It's true. Archie is very proud of his auto-draft team. As I wrote in this thread over a week ago when Archie complained that he didn't make the draft:

FWIW I thought the auto-pick was very kind to Archie.

Luckily for me the entire season isn't five days long.

Although bragging about victories in week 1 probably isn't a very forward looking strategy in a league that's going to run for months.

Yep. It happens sometimes.

However, since you are feeling so confident I will publicly wager $1000 that I will finish above you in the standings.

Will you take the bet?

Want to up that wager to $20,000? I'm feeling pretty confident about my team this year. You're a lawyer, this shouldn't be too steep.

$1000 is enough for my blood and certainly enough to signal my confidence.

Frankly, I barely trust you enough to wire $1k over especially given that your wife would clearly find out about it and I can't imagine she'd be thrilled. Besides the fact that betting $20k on anything is insane I don't think you'd actually send me that amount of money when you lost.

Do you accept $1000 as a wager?

Chuck disagrees with you. Why do you have to bring the wife into it? Is the "madame" ok with you betting a grand?

You're such a tool it's pathetic.

Who's Chuck? If you're referring to Barkley, then obviously we're operating out of different income streams.

Considering you guys presumably have some level of joint finances I assume she'd have a say.

The Madame and I each have our own jobs and separate finances. I could wire you $1000 and she'd never even know. She might make fun of me but she wouldn't have any real grounds to be upset.

You're such a tool it's pathetic.

As opposed to the guy who wants to bump a thread to celebrate a Week 1 fantasy victory?

Archie, I have noticed an increased amount of hostility recently on your part after a period of relative calm. Is there any particular reason for this? As far as I can tell the tipping point is that I made a joke about the Salt Lake City fashion industry. If you are really that upset about it, I apologize. I'm sure your wife has a vibrant and thriving modelling career in your current location.

For my part, I was upset with you when you made a pretty insensitive comment about my brother. As far as I am concerned that is water under the bridge.

I have no real interest in a long and protracted battle with you over, as far as I can tell, nothing. Is this something you're really interested in doing?
