Let me ask you a question, Calvin.

What is the one thing on this Earth that you desire most when you've had 4 or 5 beers? Yes, MOAR beers!!!

When I have snuck beers into the ESA I wasnt necessarily operating with a game plan, I was more flying by the beer of my cans.

I would not recommend the tactical beer route cuz its more trouble than its worth, but I'm not gonna lie to you and say that I wont be tempted to stop by that Maverik the next time I'm in beer acquisition mode and headed to a game.

Haha......I'm with you there. I love that stuff. People are much nicer at tailgates than just about anywhere else you'll find them too. It's funny because your Mormon police sleight does kind of apply to BYU. They have a really crappy tailgating environment for football for the most part. University of Utah's is better, but still not great. I think we're still learning how to incorporate that whole tradition properly here in this state.

Nobody tailgates. You could do your own set up, obvi, but the problem is you arent protected by the unwritten rule of tailgaiting.

Like if you go to a Utes football game you're allowed to walk around with an open container, drink right next to cops, pour beer on byu doinks, and basically do anything you want.

If you started tailgaiting outside the ESA and cracked open some beers, I'm guessing you would have a ticket in about 10 min. Just go to a bar downtown

P.S. I dont know why I'm telling you this, we both know you have no intentions of coming out to SLC.

The quality of Utah's tailgaiting is top notch. Ive been to a bunch of other places, including SEC games, and the only difference is the size. Take the Gaurdsmans lot and make it 5x bigger and you have an SEC tailgate.

Utah's tailgaiting scene has gotten better than I think most could've imagined. I wish there was a bigger lot at the U that could conslidate everyone into one space instead of it being so spread out. That would take it to the next level.

I'll defer to you because I haven't been up there early enough to catch a good fele for it for a few years, but I'll check it out at the USC and BYU games again for a refresher this year. All I know is that you tough guys will be serving me all types of foods again like I'm Lord Jon Huntsman Sr. himself like you always do. You big softies. But the size aspect that you mention was one of the reasons why I wouldn't take it up a few notches. If that's changed, awesome. Also, just sort of non-strictured life variable. Just the feel of the place. If that's better, my opinion will change.

Well, its not likely to ever grow to the size of some other schools tailgates. It will be interesting to see how our scene compares to other PAC 12 schools. I'm planning on going out to the UCLA game and maybe the AZ st game. You should stop by where I tailgate at the byu game, you will get a bunch of **** but I'll give you food and stuff.

We do that too.

It's not about the beer though. It's about doing something illegal. Like Winona Ryder stealing panties, I can afford beer inside the arena just fine, but it's more satisfying drinking something smuggled in. Tastes better too.

I don't always tailgate, but when I do, I do it responsibly.

Just hope you Boozers have a non-alcoholic to drive you home. The absolute worst thing - even worse than Howard re-signing and him and Foye getting 30 mins each - would be to cause the death of a fellow Jazz fan on the way home.

I like it how this thread became about drinking when in reality I would guess 75% of people in attendance won't be drinking at all.
