Jazz's Best Playoff Performer.

BYE

Well-Known Member
So the Playoffs are over and done with, but it's interesting to see who our best performer was. Favors was 20 years old and was by no means perfect but was arguably the Jazz's best player. What do you guys think? Expecting big things from him!

lol @ Paul's pedestrian PER. Clearly he should be traded

hey, paul was horrible in that series. so was hayward. the spurs knew that those are two guys who the team depended on. they knew they could still give al his 18 attempts and 20 points without it helping the jazz O in any way, but they also knew that if hayward and millsap got comfortable, the whole flow of the O would have looked differently.

the fact that the spurs smothered paul for 4 games and just let al have his should tell you something about how smart teams view paul/al.

To be fair, Millsap had a PER of 24.5 over 10 Playoff games in 2009-2010. I think he would be a superb third big akin to a healthy Odom for the right price.

Why you did not include second best Jazz asset ( according to Jazzfanz) Gordon Hayward?

Why you did not include second best Jazz asset ( according to Jazzfanz) Gordon Hayward?

Because he's the consensus best. This chart should be a competition for third best really, since Kanter is 2nd unanimously.

Probably for the same reason that some are saying Favors was CLEARLY the best playoff performer, despite another guy actually having a higher PER.

Hayward had a nightmare of a series. But there's still hope.
Bet you can't guess whose playoff stats these are in his first two years in the league:

Hayward shot the ball abysmally. He really needs to figure out his shooting consistency and his confidence thing. I'm hopeful he will.

OK,
Hint #1. These stats do NOT belong to a player from the Jazz.
Hint #2. Think Western Conference.

We have a winner.

I remember watching Kobe's first two years and thinking "choke artist." I was actually hoping he would shoot every time he got the ball. Not saying Hayward = Bryant. But give him a couple of playoff appearances. He'll likely settle down and play much better. Actually, having played against the very best this summer, his confidence level is probably much higher.

I was thinking the same thing--about this summer, that is. I don't know how he did for sure, but it seems like he did ok; Kobe himself talked positively about him. Confidence is huge for Hayward.
