Jeff Green is a problem

Here's a SIGNIFICANT problem. We shoot the 3rd most floaters in the league. We're 25th in the league at actually making then. Now THERE'S a problem

See my post above... it is literally one of the hardest shots to shoot and you hardly draw fouls on it. The big also doesn't have to come all the way out so they can stay in rebounding position.

That +/- stuff has more to do with who you're on the floor with than anything - anyway, I don't put that much stock in it. I still like our personnel and think we can only get better. In any event, blaming a guy that gets 15 mins a night for our problems is crazy - I mean it's not like he's not contributing. Watched Mitchell take a lot of ill advised shots last night. He has skills but he doesn't make all the right decisions like a Lebron or a Harden for example.

I question coaching decisions like why did Snyder still run our starters so hard in Toronto when a) we had no chance for a comeback and b) it was the front end of a back to back. Why do we continue to run p n' r's exclusively to Rudy when he bobbles so many passes. Why don't we involve Conley in more screen action ala Mitchell to set up the play? Why are we trying so hard to make Mudiay into something he's not, when he was so much more effective before. Why can't we ever just go with the flow of the hot hand instead of insisting on our star carrying us, even when he's struggling.

<...> Conley is the first problem. His midrange shooting has been really bad compared to years past. I don't think that is an age or system thing... just a slump... I think it comes back or he needs to stop shooting it.

DM's recent play is an issue as well. I was encouraged when he was taking more 15 footers to start the season. Those are easier shots and he's good at them. Shoots like 50% on those... on floaters he is like 31%. Nearly 25% of his shots are coming from floater range. The adjustments are fairly easy imo which is frustrating that he hasn't used them. Either take one less dribble and work in the 15-18 foot range or take one or two more dribbles and work into the paint. Drawing the defense all the way in will lead to more fouls and more offensive opportunities...

- Conley is being a problem, but I concur it's got to be called a slump; his resume doesn't allow to go further than that at this time.
- As for Mitchell, my eyes tell me the same story: he's got to stop driving the way he's doing it; either take the midrange shot out off the first dribble, find the open guy and pass or go deeper looking for contact
This team is build all over Rudy, and Rudy's gravity is a special one: you better take the quicker possible outcome, for he will crowd the basket with him or the defenders will be all over you if he pops or steps aside...
