Jeff Green revenge game, 7 pm MST

Rockets hit a lot of 3's.
They did. But every game has significant anomalies. A game that doesn’t would be an anomaly. Too often we’re shrugging our shoulders to say “[team] just happened to do a lot of ______.”

It all boils down to whether or not you can find ways to win games. You forget the money ball, casino approach, and finding ways to win games ends up boiling down to the psychological part of the game — the part completely uncapturable by aggregate data.

Trading for Conley is like asking out the head cheerleader, realizing she's a b**** and she steals all your money.

Jazz might as well just submit to Haywood and the Celtics too. This team is horrid, unworthy to be playoff team. Too soft and easily spooked.

Or like a team hits a ton of 3s and beats you. If the Rockets role players are nailing them and Harden is nailing them then it's rough.

The Jazz don't have good perimeter defenders. Should have traded Bogey like I said.

From Bernie bro to Bernie bro, trade Bogey? You sure about that?

The Jazz are begging teams to drive to the middle and take the midrange. But the Jazz suck so much that they can't guard the three and midrange and teams easily get the three off. Why? How hard is it to stay in front of a man on the perimeter if one concedea the drive. Does the size and athleticism suck that badly?

You guys know I’ve been the biggest Conley supporter on this board so this should really mean something.

I’m starting to think he really just mastered the Memphis system and now that he’s not there we are really seeing his limitations. I don’t think he’s a bad player but he’s definitely not the same player he was nor as good as any of us thought/hoped he would be.

Watching him feels like I’m watching Exum. Just waiting for him to really click and get it but it never happening. Holding on to everything he does well to keep hope open for the future.

The time has come where he just needs to come off of the bench.

The bright side to this situation is we have the most valuable expiring contract in the league next year.

We will have our two best players Mitchell and Gobert locked up for the next half decade at the very minimum so we need to get someone who matches that timeline not a 32-year old on one of the worst contracts in the league.

Should have never traded for him because we could really have used Crowder and Favors right now. The narrative that Bogdanovic signed here because of Conley is overblown. He signed here because we offered him the most money and the most years.

Al in all, there is tons of hope for the future an the front office has a chance to make up for the Conley mistake either this offseason or next year. We really need to trade for a younger player who fits our timeline for the next 5 years.

Oh nope...you're wrong about that too, thanks to the assets we gave away to get Conley.

So by then we'll have a more mature Mitchell, a year and a half older Rudy and what else?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you came around on MC, but what does the future holds really.

Our two best players will be locked up for the next 4+ years minimum. Mitchell isn’t even close to his prime yet. There is plenty to look forward too.
