He's been fantastic this year. It was just a couple of years ago that the Hawks were lightly shopping him. Now, he's gonna be an all-star.

Watching him and Shroeder is fun. They get into the paint, push the pace, play solid defense. They're showing me how far Trey and Exum have to go.

It is interesting how the right offensive system and teammates have unlocked his potential. I suspect that having Korver and Millsap on the floor with him make a lot of things easier.

Teague was pretty mediocre his 1st 2 years. He didn't play much, but his per minute stats didn't point to anything special. This should give us some hope for Burke.

I can confirm this. Carroll is playing really well, too. There's something tortuous about seeing so many former Jazzmen, each of whom left the team with no returning asset, playing so well.

Alas, he's sooo much faster than Trey. And, he changes speeds sooo much better.

BTW, I was shocked when I looked at the box score after the game. Millsap had 13pts, 9rbs, 4 assists and 4 steals. His impact, though, was way beyond these numbers. He did an EXCELLENT job on Davis.

Kanter will never be as good as Millsap.

With Millsap on the roster we would have never gotten Exum.

And by NEVER I mean we would have had like a 5% worse chance to climb into the top3.

If we would have Millsap we could have had Cleveland"s record and gotten Wiggins.

Also back on topic:
I'm not impressed with Teague's defense. His offense is majorly helped by the fact that he's playing in lineups that create space in the paint.
Also a fun fact: These lineups create so much space that Teague is meeting less people in the paint than Baumgartner when he jumps from the edge of space.

I think his court vision is still poor and his best passing move is that whenever he isn't quick enough to get his shot off in the paint he makes reset passes to the elbow where he finds Horford/Millsap very often who are good at converting semi contested jumpers over close outs.

Seriously, the only thing I want Trey to do on a consistent basis is relentlessly get into the paint and, if the layup isn't there, kick it out. Teague does this tirelessly, and he does it because his coach is demanding it (cf. Popovich demanding the same thing of Parker). In other words, a lot of your criticisms don't mean **** because (a) he's doing what the offense requires of him and (b) he's doing it at a really high level. Teague has been great so far. That is unimpeachable.

There's a difference between kicking it out and turning around in the air and deciding to reset. And that's what Teague throws often. Reset passes that end up elbow makes from Horford. And I watch them a lot, since I'm German...

Again, I fail to see the problem. I, also, watch them a lot.... thus, this thread.

Yes there is no problem. But my point is that his efficiency has a lot to do with the players around him. And I think his defense isn't good. It isn't too bad as well and his price tag suggests he's slightly underpaid.
