Jefferson for Brand + 2014 first-round pick.

Both teams are in the middle-years of a re-build, and are committed to expiring contracts and upcoming free-agent acquisitions.
Philly needs a C, and was successful last year with a slow, plodding front court (translation: Jefferson doesn't represent a culture change).
Brand has been a professional, and would likely accept a sixth-man role. Favors gets to start, and we improve our 4-big rotation just by losing Jefferson's influence on the offensive flow, not to mention his defensive woes.
We get the pick because of the +3 million in extra expense that comes with Brand.

This is the kind of one-year change-of-scenery move that benefits both squads.

It sets us up with the likelihood of 2 first-round picks in the next two drafts... nice flexibility and plenty of infusions of fresh talent.

No, cuz what about Kanter?

I'm tired of this idea that we used a 3rd overall pick for a guy we dont plan on playing or developing. I dont care how young he is. That is just stupid. The guy can play right now too. He is an excellent third big. Also I would like to see Evans as our fourth big. He needs some minutes.

I dont want to see Kanter riding the bench all game long. Otherwise we should just be exploring trading him for something we can use.

Don't hate it. I tend to be in the camp that prefers to see Favors at PF and worries about Millsap/Favors dynamic over the long haul (despite loving Millsap). I don't know why Sixers would give up 1st rounder (seeing that they tend to be rather valuable these days).

Yeah, there's this too. Good point.

I doubt Philly does it. Jefferson versus Brand and the meager money difference isn't going to get them to part with a pick that they can't even offer since they're sending a future first to Miami (draft night trade).
