Jefferson/Millsap: Expirings or Trade Chips?

Its looking like the Jazz will have two picks this year, so I think both will expire to make room for two lottery picks. The Jazz can probably get a future 1st rounder for Millsap from a playoff team that both needs a PF upgrade and has money to resign him (Indiana?)
If the Jazz feel Mo isn't working out as the deadline approaches, and think they won't resign him, they might shop Sap for the best available PG they can get.
 
How is this guy here? I have a clean history and ended up getting an infraction that didnt expire for like 10 months because I posted a picture that had very mild profanity in it. For anyone who witnessed the entire board taken over with porn, this was less than, what, three months ago? I thought for sure this was perma-ban. Amazing.
 
Even though the conventional wisdom is to never trade big for small, if the Jazz could get a competent PG in their mid 20s for Al (or to a lesser degree Sap...I have a bias with Sap being one of my favorite Jazz players of all time) I would be giddy.
 
I think it's funny when people say, stuff like "if we could get derka derka for Al, I guess I'd be ok with it."

Al is NOT an asset. The only thing we are getting for him is other peoples problems and cast offs.

I disagree.
Quality big men are very hard to find, and there's no doubt Big Al is considered to be a top 5 big man around the league.

Yeah... the 15 million dollar contract is little murky considering the NBA is now a point guards league.
At the same time, I don't think Big Al expects that he's going to be getting that type of money again unless he has a spectacular season.

Way I see it, with Kanter and Favors, Big Al and Sap are luxuries, not necessities.
I think the jazz should trade them for more help in the back court.

*neither are contender makers so they have to be trade chips. but jazz coach is too overjobsecurityworried to think of them as that way. the smartest thing to do is to trade one of them to a pass first pg midway through the season.

You know, the silencer I think may be right about Al being seen as a top big man in the league. We may not see it that way, but we live inside a bubble. Just look at how fast the Chicago Bulls gobbled up Carlos Boozer. Its like they had no idea what he was about, even though his act was on display for the world to see in the playoffs year after year.

I think the league is none the wiser about Al too. I think he definitely has some trade value for us

according to my calculations, Paul SapMan for Jose Calderon works under the CBA.
what say you guys? jazz would have the inside track of re-signing him in the summer.
maybe we can get toronto to take bell too muahhahahaha

jose calderon would be the starter here. he's better than any point guard on the roster.
jazz pg situation sucks dawg. beggars cant be choosers. u gotta upgrade the best you can.
