Jefferson/Millsap

I've seen a lot of talk regarding them both possibly going to the Bobcats. I suspect they'd both want big $$$ to do that, which I don't see the Bobcats offering. However, I could see them both signing for less $$$ to sign with the Lakers. That would give the Lakers Nash & Kobe in the backcourt, Millsap replacing Artest, who would go to the bench, then Howard, Jefferson, and Gasol in a rotation at C/PF.
Assuming Howard would be willing to focus on D to cover up their overall lack of good D elsewhere, this would be interesting. The Bulls certainly have made use Boozer w/o damaging their D all that much, and Noah covering up...

Lakers are a pipedream at this point. Also, the Lakers have nothing worthwhile to trade in a sign and trade. Not to mention that I don't think the Lakers are eligible for a sign and trade.

The Lakers probably trade Gasol away for next to nothing before they add any significant salary. They wouldn't even sign Bell for a prorated vet minimum deal because of the money (or something, D'Antoni and Kobe had both been doing some public lobbying).

yeah, I heard that Millsap was going to the Cats. Jordan likes him... thinks he's the next Jordan.

Jefferson is going to the Lakers. Kobe thinks Al is the next Shaq.

I will be so sad when they go to their respective teams and just burn the Jazz every single game. It will really suck when we have Kanter and Favors in beast mode.

With the new CBA in effect, I doubt there is any team in the league who can afford $12m+ per year for Big Al. Everyone is looking to dump salary. The only possible destination coming to my mind would be the Rockets. They have the cap space and Al can be pretty lethal with Asik who is an excellent defender.

And that would leave them still well over the cap but give them some relief in the outrageous amount of luxury tax payments they're currently projected at (can't remember the exact amount, wasn't it $80-$100M just in taxes?).

Unless they DON'T re-sign Howard, the Lakers have ZERO dollars to spend. They'll have their exceptions and be able to sign a couple of vets at the minimum...that's it.

You are correct. The new CBA prevents that kind of a sign-and-trade. So basically, there's little incentive for a S&T, at least from the team side.

Jefferson to the Sixers in a s-n-t swap with Bynum. New Jazz big lineup of Bynum-Kanter-Favors-hayward-Mo. Book it *confirmed*
