Jerry Sets the Record Straight

Interesting that he did not imply Deron or KOC in that statement. He also refused to talk to Steve Luhm about his statement.

I just think that Karl's radio show appearance was ill-timed, let alone his harsh criticism toward the management. Also, Greg's calling him out on twitter was immature, to say the least. That should not be an owner's style of response.

I strongly believe that had Phil Johnson and Coach Sloan felt undermined and disrespected by KOC or Millers, Phil would not be doing commentating work for KFAN and ROOT.

Too many questions to be answered, dilemmas to be adressed, actually. I just hope the play of this young team, not Sloan resigning, Jerry-DWill altercations, will be the hot topics of Jazz sections (if there is any) of mainstream sports media. This should not be a distraction to organisation and the team.

For me personally I will take Sloan at his word. He said it was not that then it was not that. We have new players and new coach. I am focused on where we are now not where we were. Go Jazz!

Sloan taking the high road. But I noticed that too memo is money. He won't mention KOC in anything he says about it.

To play devil's advocate, this statement and Malone's comments aren't as mutually exclusive as they may appear.

This statement does not set the record straight as the title of this thread indicates. It vindicates the Millers and that's about it.

Either he is telling the truth, or he cares too much about the franchise to say anything that will put a black mark on it. Either way, I appreciate the comments much more than Malone's which just seemed to be made for the sake of saying them.

If it vindicates the Millers, it's Jerry doing it. I agree that the whole story isn't being told and I think KOC might be a factor. I keep telling people the story about meeting Clifford Ray and how he told me that Jerry was real PO'd when they didn't resign Matthews -- I really think this was the start of it. Deron felt the same way. There may have been other decisions that Jerry wasn't happy with -- Maynor, Brewer, Korver ??? We all know how Deron felt about not resigning Brewer.

On the same day we hear that Jerry Sloan was offered and refused the Portland job, Wes Mathews sets the record straight on Jerry:

Joe Freeman: Someone jokingly told @Wesley Matthews he was the reason Jerry Sloan declined #Blazers job. He quipped back: "No, I'm the reason he retired."

John Canzano: Olshey said he offered Jerry Sloan the Blazers coaching job... Sloan, as you know, turned it down.

Everyone knows Deron was pissy because his boy Wes didn't get matched, maybe Sloan was too. Then seeing his old friends Brewer, Korver and Boozer was just too much.....

Jesus, how long does this need to be played out? Why did he feel the need to "Set the record Straight" 6 Months after this crap went down. I'd love to know the truth of what went on in that locker room that day, but we likely never will. Just seems odd Jerry felt the need to issue a statement.

Uh, check out the date of the first post in the thread.
