Jerry West battled "depression"........

carolinajazz, your comment shows incredible insensitivity and disrespect to the many people who battle depression, including Jerry West.

This is probably one of the most pathetic threads you've ever started or commented on.
I seldom give negative rep, but this time it's very much deserved. This is even worse than your typical racially-charged rant.

Please go away for a while.

no

you made an insulting post that trivializes a serious condition for the sole purpose of promoting your misguided opinions

West played at WVU with the original hopper - Hot Rod Hundley.

So there goes that theory.

Can you possibly imagine what would happen if a player attempted a hook shot on a free throw today? They'd run the guy out of basketball.

Get a grip.

...exactly! I was merely pointing out that Mr. West....a basketball "purist" by any standards.....would have had major difficulty playing with the knot-heads of todays NBA, who are more interested in self-aggradizement than in winning or helping there teammates win.

Stupid and misguided, per usual. I'm sure that if Elgin Baylor played now instead of when he did, he'd be on your "hopper list". And Jerry West? He would have "major difficulty" playing with these guys but not bringing them to his team, right? Right, Kobe, Shaq, and Van Exel? Also, wasn't West one of the leaders in the All Star Game strike? Greedy, selfish knucklehead.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to YB85 again.

Hmm, I have read some recent medical studies that indicate that a depressed was more observant and had much more objective very of themselves and their surroundings. I wonder how that would affect a pro basketball player.

I'd be willing to bet you are already depressed. I've always thought that when reading your posts. Either you really are that miserable, or you are staying in some internet character you've created, which is equally as miserable of an act. I guess using jazzfanz as your outlet as opposed to hard drugs and alcohol is safer for everyone. As long as you keep your DNA out of the gene pool we'll all be fine.
