Jimmer for CJ?

They didn't actually draft Fredette, they actually acquired him through a draft-trade with Milwaukee if memory serves me right. However, I feel that the Kings are much more interested in one of the of the other players that they drafted that night: Isaiah Thomas, who they got @ #60 overall. He is the one that gets all the playing time. Here is an idea: Looking at the upcoming 2012 draft, if the Jazz don't think that they will be able to get the player that they really want with the Golden State pick, should they consider giving that up plus C.J. if they think Fredette is better than anything they could acquire in the draft? One would think that the acquisition of another potential lottery pick to go along with their own (assuming they don't make the playoffs) could be enough for Sacramento to give up on Fredette. Look at Cleveland (that terrible team we beat on Monday who just won in Denver). They acquired a second lottery pick (from the Clippers in the Baron Davis trade) and landed the #1 overall pick because of it. The second lottery pick increased the odds that they would land a top 3 pick. Due to the fact that they already had a good chance of landing a top 3 pick simply by their terrible record, they were almost a shoe-in for the #1 overall pick. The Kings are a very young team made up of several high picks and talented players. Some think that they could become the "next" Oklahoma City with the proper moves. A top pick could be just the type of thing to push them over the top. This would seem like a very equal trade for both sides if the Kings were to also include a future pick for the Jazz as part of the deal.
Are you implying that Tebow didnt? I'm a Denver fan and so naturally I support Tebow. He is by no means perfect but he obviously had a big impact on winning those games.
Ngt in the same way Lin or Jimmer did during their times. Tebow played like **** for 3 quarters then played a great 4th, and was bailed out by amazing defense.
Make no mistake, Burks is just as bad, but in different ways. He won't last in a Jazz uniform, mark my words.

While Burks and Miles do have a similar faults (selfish), Burks is effective and Miles has never been any where near effective. That is the main difference.

Wow those are incredible numbers for a rookie that is 4 years older than anyone else in his draft class. They better extend that contract quick. No reason to get all testy about your jimmer- I have my opinion dumb@$$

4 years older than everybody in the draft class? So everyone in the draft came straight out of high school? Those stats are good enough to stay in the league past his rookie contract for sure. Your opinion is uneducated and it is wrong. Somehow your opinion is wrong. Congratulations.

If Jimmer continues to shoot and make decisions in the NBA like he did in college, he is another CJ. No one talks about his ups and downs, largely because he admittedly made shots in college. However, when one looks at the numbers he was no real consistent - much like our beloved CJ. In 37 games he had 15 games where he shot 50% or above from beyond the 3 pt line. He had 16 games where he shot 33% or lower from the 3 pt line. In 12 of those 16 games, he shot 25% or less from the 3 pt line. He ended the season at .396 from beyond the arc, which puts him well out of the top 100 in 3pt field goal percentage – probably between 120-140. This isn’t gymnastics, ice skating or bull riding. You don’t get extra points for some of the shots being spectacular.
In fairness, his shot selection was often horrible and that is a coaching issue as much as a JF issue. Whether he likes it or not, he is lucky to have the coach he does who will give him a chance to break some bad habits. He should shoot a much higher percentage than he does but he needs to figure out when to chuck and when to pass. If he doesn't figure that out, give me CJ because of his length and he is a much better defender.

In the pros he has maintained his 39% 3 pt shooting. So his one proven NBA skill has carried over.
I have watched several King games and they often play him at SG next to Isiah Thomas. Jimmer hasn't played well and it hasn't been a good situation for him. Some of it is he plays next a ball-dominant guard (Tyreke Evans), a gunner (Marcus Thorton) and a black hole (Demarcus Cousins).
That said, he needs to suck it up and find a way to be effective for his team. Hopefully with Thomas in the starting lineup Jimmer can get more time at the point with the ball in his hands.
Personally I expect that he will have at least a role for several years in the league as a shooter.

Burks is also only 20 years old. He has more time to develop. Alec just seems to get what is required to be a really good player in this league. I think that he was actually the #1 rated SG in last year's draft.

I guess you don't understand sarcasm. He was the oldest player taken in the top 20 picks... But don't worry he'll still develop all those other skills he needs to be a productive pro like dribbling, passing, and defense. I mean the ONE skill he had in college as a shooter has transfered over nicely at a whopping 39%.
We'll just have to disagree- I think Jimmer is a capable passer but gets very few opportunities with the ball on this Kings team. He can handle the ball as well. He is at an athletic disadvantage and will never be a very good NBA defender. Which means he must become on of the smartest, most crafty players in the league.
Food for thought:
Steve Nash averaged 3.3 ppg, 2.1 apg in 10 mpg as a rookie. He was 22 years old. He shot 42% from the field.

Not saying that Jimmer will be the next Steve Nash- but it can take more time for less athletic players to adjust their game.
