Jimmer workout observer's reaction

True seems like Calipari just wants one and done guys. Looking back you wouldnt take a 4 year guy who won national player of the year over a one and done guy? Crazy.

Seriously? You aren't serious, are you? You would rather take Jimmer, a second round draft pick until a weak lottery year, and have him for 4 years, instead of 4 top 5 picks? Really? So, was Boeheim stupid for taking Carmelo? You probably want Jimmer over any of those guys, don't you? Jimmer is good, he isn't great.

p.s. Calipari doesn't want one and done guys. He wants talent. It just so happens his kids are so freaking talented, they become one and done guys.

Hell, if we draft Jimmer and Portland offers Jimmer for Andre Miller, I probably take it. You know Miller will be a fantastic backup pg. Jimmer, who knows. He could be Hafa Arujo for all we know.

I'm mostly excited to see Jimmer get drafted by the Kings so that all you Cougar Town Bagadouches can go buy new Suckramento jerseys (that will end up hanging in you closet next to your 76ers Shawn Bradley jersey)....

Did not get my point obviously. Talking about college. Obviously if Jazz could draft Rose or Wall I would take him over Jimmer.

Yes, I did get your point. Your point was, as a college coach, you would rather take a less talented player that would play four years for you. My point was, give me that more talented player for one year, then less talent for four years. If, as a college coach, I can get Evans, then Rose, then Wall, then Knight, I will be more successful, make more money, live a better life then getting a Jimmer that will play for four years. Give me final fours consistently instead of sweet sixteens once every 30 years.

The problem with your point is that BYU's other players had nowhere near the talent of Jimmer. If they did a national championship would be theirs.

Technically Calipari has only been to 1 Final Four. And who knows how long that one will last as well.

After reading the whole thread, I've decided to impersonate those posting here.

1. Rarrrrrrr, how dare you say he's possible at 3!!!! Anyone who says that deserves to have their generalized intelligence mocked because I want to deflect the fact that I can't give a unbiased opinion due to my deep seeded hatred towards my annoying as hell BYU neighbor.

2. Rarrrrrrr, don't you say negative things about Jimmer, we need to trade up and get him at 1st overall!!!!!! I really don't watch the Jazz as much as I watch BYU, but after my unhealthy man-crush blossomed I want...wait...no..... need Jimmer to stay close to home. I can't bear to see him in the arms of another team.

Difference? Not that much. People are either ignoring possibilities in a VERY fluid draft or are being unrealistic and overly defensive. Either way, most of the people posting are way too emotional, and I'm glad you have zero say in what the Jazz brass do.

Or if you think Jimmer is going to be a quality NBA player you must be a BYU fanatic or something. :)

Jimmer will be gone at 12. Its like how the Pacers waited for their hometown hero Hayward only for us to take him at 9 if I remember correctly.

Hafa Araujo has not accomplished anything in College, and he was 2 years older than other seniors. The guy had bust written all over him. Jimmer is much more accomplished and 2 years younger coming out of College. I think Jameer Nelson is a good comparison, and considering Jimmer is bigger, more athletic, and even more accomplished College player than Jameer was, I't a pretty good bet Jimmer will do even better in NBA. This is not to say guys like Knight and Irving won't be even better than that, but Jimmer is no chopped liver.

To be fair, Araujo did turn in some bigtime production at BYU. The problem was, as you mentioned, his age. The guy just wasn't going to get any better and he treated basketball as a game of brute strength rather than a game of skill and quickness.

Araujo may have put up relatively decent numbers, as a lot of the guys do, but he was nowhere near, I repeat nowhere in the same ball park, of Jimmer's National Player of the Year accomplishment. This is not best BYU player award we are talking about here. To even mention bust Hoffa and Jimmer in the same sentence as Jimmer is simply not fair to Jimmer, unless we are talking about someone who will be carrying Jimmer's gym bag to the practice.

The closest draft bust I can think of with similar level of College accomplishment as Jimmer is Morrison. But Morrison was literally one of the worst atheltes in the draft. And the position he plays (wing) is the most athletic position in NBA. I beleive that's the reason his College success didn't translate. Jimmer is #12 athlete in the draft, and has good size, wingspan, and reach. That's why he does not have that major problem Morrison did. I could care less about BUY, but I think a guy like Jimmer would do great for the Jazz. If he is on the board at 12, I think we have to grab him, even if our first pick is Irving or Knight.

Are you taking the proud Bagadonuts name in vain newb? May you never be allowed into a Krispy Kreme again, as long as you... suck. As for Ferdetter, I'm not slurping the Jimmer Jello but I fully expect the Jazz to draft him for the marketing value alone. It's a no brainer. I guarantee I'll never wear one of his jerseys no matter who he plays for.
