Joe Ingles - Jazz PG of the future?

Ingles was just incredible last night.

Is Joe playing at PG something that could be a long term solution to our PG problem?

Dont think you want Joe guarding PG's for an 82 game season. He could certainly be the acting PG on offense in the case we lose Hill and start Exum. Ingles certainly creates much better. He just needs a floater to expand his game a bit.

CP3 and Westbrook are amazing players. Neither will get out of the first round. Super glad that we have so many wing facilitators.

There are always going to be match-up problems for every team. All PGs can't guard CP3, Westbrook or Lillard. We are going to have to match up. But I bet for most games, Ingles can match up OK vs the other teams point. Also, I think other teams would have a tough time matching up with Ingles at 6'8". His handle has surprised me. He vision and passing skills are GREAT. He is probably our best one on one defender.

But I mean, that would just tire him out over the course of the season. You want him guarding 2-guards and 3's. That is where he excels defensively. If Exum could actually create offense, it would be cool to see him start next year with Ingles at the 2, but that is a questionable outcome.

I don't think Exum is a PG as far as running an offense. He can guard the PGs.

Yeah, but still, if you are starting Exum/Ingles/Hayward/Favors/Gobert then you really only have 1 individual shot creator on the court unless Exum can take the next step, which is my point that if we go that direction it basically rides on Exum being a consistent scorer.

Exum is our second best isolation player next to Ingles statistically based on points per possession. I dont think that would be much of an issue with that lineup. I think the bigger problem with that lineup is Exums shooting. If he can shoot like he did towards the end of the season it works great if not it gets rough.

NO
He can't be an option as PG

But in any case Jazz have to re-sign Ingles more than Hill.

Incredible supporting analysis.

Actual results would suggest otherwise. Ingles has been the best play maker we have had in the post season.

Too slow, more effective as alternative option as shooter/ball handler to create without being matched up against the PG elites. I can go on but you'll argue otherwise regardless.
