Joe Johnson Coming to Utah

Roster is starting to shape up with 2-deep, starter level quality at every position:

Exum/Hill
Hood/Burks
Hayward/Johnson
Favors/Lyles
Gobert/BIG HOLE

We need to go out and get, preferably through a trade involving Burke, a starting quality backup center for Gobert. With his and Favors' injuries last year, this is the biggest risk to keep the Jazz out of the playoffs. If Lindsay follows form from the past couple of weeks, he will find an experienced vet center to bring in. One more player with playoff experience that can continue to help the young guys to develop. Gasol would be nice, but if we didn't get a vet, maybe someone like Cole Aldrich.

It kind of freaks me out to think of how good this team could be.

Jeff Withey totally impressed whenever he hit the court last year. I think he is a solid backup. Gasol would make the Jazz insanely good.

He started during the playoffs but I believe he was coming off the bench before that. He only played the latter part of the season for them.

No he started every single game he played last year, both for Heat and Nets. He literally hasnt started a game from the bench in 13 years.

He has always been a great offensive player, but what about his defense? Does he play any?
When I've watched him the last couple years, he's been good. I thought he defended Lebron as well as anybody when he was with Brooklyn. I don't know if he is that consistent, but when he wanted to be good, he was.

I wanted Dudley but this is much better. Not only is it a good fit but Johnson will be a mentor to Hood, helping improve his post game.

I don't think your original post said what you think it said.
Your an idiot. It says exactly what I want it to. See your way out'a my bidness
Great addition! Finaly a big name that will play for the Jazz.

Let's let other teams to overpay average players.

I was a bit skeptical about George Hill trade but I'm very glad about this deal.

Jazz are going in the right direction.
Bull **** (cough cough). U were whining and moaning like the rest of the idiots, IDIOT!!!
Good reasonable signing
He used to be an alpha scorer
Reminds me of the Chris Morris signing
Morris at end of career but a piece that got Jazz
to the finals
Ugh!! CHRIS MORIS WAS HORRIBLE!! I remember the Jazz trying to play him as a starter, putting Horny on the bench. That didn't go well. He wasn't a piece of anything that got the Jazz anywhere and he wasn't that old. He'd been in the league only a few years. Maybe 4-5 years before coming to Utah.

He's absolutely fine-- and he 100% will hold his own in a bench lineup. Guys, bench wings don't need to be Tony Allen on defense. We have 3 other wings who are ****ing legit on defence. It'll be okay. I'm sure he isn't worse than Joe Ingles, who was 100% playable in terms of defence.

I hope it's been mentioned in this thread (there's too much summersaulting for me to read through it all), but it's fair to question how committed Johnson is to WINNING. Don't get me wrong, I like this signing, and I like the terms, but this is a fair question.

Ok, back to summersaulting.

That's one of the reasons I've never been a big fan, but he went to Miami and immediately made them significantly better. He helped them win. That's good enough for me.

how many losing teams has JJ been on through his career?
