John Collins and The Clippers

Clarkson could actually be a foot fit for LAC and is more reasonable salary wise. Right now, LAC has Porter/Bones as their bench scoring options. Maybe one of those two works out well for them, but if not JC could be a good option for them.

I see that making less sense than Collins. They have Harden/Bones/Porter/Powell. Only way it makes sense if they want to cut cost by swapping Powell/Clarkson, but they arent in the money saving business. They will be in the "making sure we make the play in so we dont get embarrassed by the Thunder pick swap" business.

Collins, if he has a good shooting year, provides them something they dont have. The closest thing they have is Kobe Brown, who is kind of like a poor man's John Collins atm. He would play well with Harden too.

Trading for Clarkson doesn't require to trade DJJ. It is much easier for them to trade expiring contracts for Clarkson. They could get it done with only Tucker or if they don't want the tax Bones+Tucker (aka players who are useless to them). Bones/Porter aren't exactly reliable and Powell is a different kind of player than Clarkson. I'm not saying they would pick Clarkson, but they would take likely take Clarkson and DJJ over Collins. DJJ is probably the player they value most of the three.

Still think DJJ is going to be massively disappointing after a career year and Collins is going to look attractive if he's having a good shooting season.
