Please. The guy didn't get laid off. He still gets his check. Still supports his family. No, he doesn't get to play basketball for the rest of the year. Yes, that stinks, but he does too. 39% FG. 22% 3PFG.

But his basketball career is over.

Most of the responses in this thread are pretty shameful.

Best wishes to Josh. He's been good for us this year, don't let my calls for him to be traded be confused.

I'm glad that there won't be anyone left in the cold in the rotation any longer.

The chip would explain some up and down play from Howard.

This is definitely a WOW moment though.

Howard been a definite professional this year. Definitely been the best of the three "cradle robbers" at the wing (Miles, Howard, Bell). Of the three, he's the one I'd want back next year because of his tenacity on defense, rebounding, and calming influence.

It really makes me sad to see people cheering an injury on a player who never wanted anything this year but an opportunity to play hard.

These.

I like Howard, but it never made sense to me to pick him up with all the wings already on this team, or to play him so much when he was just coming off the DL and not himself.

Let's be honest. It's gonna be more CJ.

Yes, I think it will most likely be CJ starting - but "hopefully" CJ realises, and is told, that as he is with the starters, he doesnt have to think that it is all on his shoulders to score and that he should just focus on defending and creating for others - I know it is a longshot, but one can only hope.

It will be interesting to see if corbin finishes with burks tho as he has done the last two games.

Once Raja is able:

Bell,CJ, Backed up by Burks, Hayward
With Carroll available. Still no shortage...

Tonight we may see some Carroll.

Knew all along this was going to be a bad signing. Just took time away from Burks and Hayward. I wish we would have went with a undrafted guy perhaps someone like Wesley.

I am with you on this one. Never was supporter of his signing... now he is done for good, to bad - to come back from two microfracture surgeries and be effective will be very very tough to do.... Glad it was only 1 year deal.

I hope this is elective surgery. Howard has been a classy player who proved himself this year after choosing the Jazz over the Spurs. He's proven he still belongs in the league and hopefully will recover well and get another contract this summer.

Too bad for Josh. I like him as a good veteran presence. Wish him a speedy recovery, but do hope to see more Burks, Hayward & Carroll (to see what he can even do) as a result. Wonder who starts tonight. ?

So do I. I was one of the few people excited by the signing and for the most part wasnt disappointed. Now I just hope Hay and Burks can take full advantage of the situation.

Where did you hear that he's had any microfracture surgeries?

Terrible news for Howard! I hope this doesn't end his career. Before we signed him I think most thought he was a head case and bad influence in a locker room, having him on the team has been the complete opposite. I wish him the best.
