We need a shot blocker who can challenge every shot from the paint, not someone who can fly off the weak side and get highlight packs. I cant really comment on Smith's man defense.
Josh Smith would be great in a 2nd or 3rd-option role, like Lamar Odom on steroids. Just rebound, dunk, block people, taunt the fans, etc. He's more athletic than anyone the Jazz have currently (okay, except maybe Ronnie Price on a good day).

While thinking of his salary situation I might hesitate a bit, but for the people on here who think he wouldn't fit on the team or wouldn't be an upgrade over AK:![]()

3rd option at best, 4th option ideally if the team doesnt suck.
So add this to D.Will, CJ Miles and Al Jeff...

That's interesting considering he's never averaged even 14 shots per game in his career.
Good work there though.
Not to mention Woodson has been having issues with Smith's personality ever since he has been in Atlanta. It's not even like Atlanta runs a structured offense.
I love it that everytime another team is looking to deal a player, theres always some Jackass that steps up and pleads how the Jazz should give their left basketball to aquire this guy when it makes no sense at all. If it was a position that we were needing to fill, then I could understand it.
If Bill Russle was looking at coming out of retirement at 137 years old, you can bet that someone would be on here calculating figures finding every possible way to make it work. What a JOKE.
