Julian Assange to come home

Thing is Snowden isn't wrong. All of us deserve better than societies run by tyrants and old men with the sole purposes of maintaining a status quo of corporate power and greed and day by day accelerates our dispossession and enslavement to the corporate state.
Oh was that what Snowden was trying to do? He merely wanted society to be run by democratic leaders and young people? Did anyone think that was what he was doing when he released information about American military capabilities? And this is justified in breaking the law?

It’s funny how Assange and Snowden are touted by supporters with having altruistic motives despite never actually declaring altruistic motives. They show their “altruism” by helping the worst people in the world. But of course, in probably just “misunderstanding” their “altruism.” In fact, their actions actually help tyrants and old men stay in power. What’s funny to me is that these guys who “merely want to spread democracy around the world and empower young people” never go after China or Russia. Angry at old men who abuse their power? Go after Russia. Instead, they run and seek shelter in Russia after exploiting the openness of western democratic nations.

At the end of the day America still did this **** and have historically done a lot worse. After 1956 political executions stopped in the Soviet Union, can the same be said about the US? What would Fred Hampton or Leonard Peltier or Mumia Abu Jamal, all men murdered or silenced by US law enforcement have to say about this? Let alone the work of American backed death squads through South and Central America, this has been the price paid by many to resist the American establishment and military industrial complex. Assange is a detestable, arrogant bastard, the people that he has exposed are worse.

The Soviet Union didn’t stop political assassinations. Where do you get your information from?

And no, America and the Soviet Union/Russia aren’t equal in war crimes, authoritarianism, or barbarism. Snowden wasn’t revealing anything to improve human rights. Both he and Assange focus primarily on revealing western countries military capabilities to authoritarian regimes and embarrassing western democracies while leaving the worst actors in the world alone. Then, they seek refuge in those authoritarian countries. It’s not hard to see what they’re doing. Useful idiots have been exploited by authoritarian regimes for almost 100 years now.

May I offer some advice? Some suggested reading to be better informed about the Soviet Union.

Could be that everyone is right. Snowden and assange exposed corruption by Western democracy countries and that could be viewed as a good thing
But they also might have exposed the corruption to help countries that are even worse be more powerful. That could be viewed as a bad thing.

Maybe there are shades of grey here

I remember seeing an interview with the prick nearly 20 years ago where he was talking about himself in the third person and talking about himself as a brand. My immediate impression was what a ********** this bloke is. It hasn't changed.

What corruption did Snowden expose? Most of what he “exposed” were military secrets and assessments. Who would benefit the most by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of American and fellow NATO countries’ militaries? Do we find it a coincidence that Russia of all countries gave Snowden refuge?
