Kamala Harris for Pres

The primary issue is everyone has their personal favorite that they think everyone "likes" more than other horses, when it's really all personal preference in that regard.
So let us vote.
That was easy

good grief you're stupid. Joe Biden specifically said he was going to choose a black woman. Harris was a spectacular failure in her run for President. You still think he chose her on merit ?? Utter clown.
For very very very long time people have been being hired because they were white men. Not only were basically all of the desirable jobs available to white men, they were exclusively for white men.

You can still see it today, where a highly intelligent and successful person is mocked, not for being just another white male being given a participation trophy for going to college, but because it is a black woman. That's why we're going to criticize her fortunate opportunity, because she's a black woman? We gonna call every non-white person out when they get an opportunity they don't necessarily deserve more than any other person on the planet? That seems to be the qualification for being a DEI hire, "you are not the #1 candidate for this position in the entire world, therefore I cannot in good conscience give this job to you... unfortunately I was forced to give it to my brother in law Jim Bob." I mean wouldn't want to be woke and be guilty of DEI.

I can't think of a single name that is considered "tough on immigration" that either isn't under indictment or should be for kidnapping.
I think Ted Cruz and Nikki Hailey, and vivik ramsawey, Desantis, and every other Republican candidate would/did probably campaign on being tough on immigration. Hell I bet Chris Christie did too.
It's kind of a party platform as much as a trump one.

Sounds like her history is more inline to be the AG, not the VP.

This is not why Biden picked her and you know it.

What are her accomplishments as VP?

This is why I say Pete should be the VP; only a mayor and transportation head. Needs more experience, would be more successful in his tasks than Kamala as a VP.

There is no company in the world that would take Kamala over Pete to run it. None. But you want Kamala to be the lead on the ticket because your overlords told you she is the best and a couple polls told you.

You want the best option, big picture she is not the best option.
Give me "any" accomplishments any veep has that would be laudable and not laughable.

Pence was a yes man who had was meme'd because a fly landed on his head, Biden was the ultimate meme guy, Cheney was the second coming of Palpatine, Gore invented the Internet, Quayle was the ultimate moron, Bush did nothing but assassinate Banana Republic dictators that swung too close to the Hammer and Sickle, etc.

A VP's job and place is to second the President, act as the President of the Senate and cast tie breaking votes, and other functions as demanded by the POTUS. They do not get to have accomplishments.

dude this is about being VP/President, not a run of the mill job. I"d agree with a lot of what you said but in this instance it's ridiculous not to choose entirely on merit.

out of curiosity how many people do you think would've voted for DeSantis who would never vote for Trump ?? Bc it seemed like a terrible decision not to go with someone who was Trump like but in a more polite presentable package ??
A bunch. I think many Republicans who hate trump (just on this site bucknutz and AL as examples) and many independents would vote for Desantis before voting for Trump.

I know my parents are pretty hard core Republicans and also don't like trump (though I wouldn't be surprised if they vote for him) and would much rather vote for Desantis.

Then you have people like me who would maybe go 3rd party or just stay home if Desantis was the candidate.

I think the Republicans were stupid for nominating such an unpopular candidate.

For DA or Senator/VP?

I would right a check to my local sheriff for re-election but not for Senator.
Beats me. I just think it's funny that he gave her money.

Are you a registered Democrat?
Nope. Good thing is I voted in the Democratic primaries in 2016 and 2020 anyways because it didn't matter what I was registered as

I don’t think JD Vance is deserving of the VP. Wrote a book, Barely in politics and worked for a short time at a Venture Capital firm.

Very thin… what does he bring to the Trump ticket?

Doens't change what I said. Cruz got off due to the SCOTUS being nice to him on one charge, Haley has Tax issues, Christie plead down several charges in 2005, etc. Vivik I actually can't recall any particular issues he's had, so I might stand corrected. But he isn't a total creton either.

The Biden administration has apprehended more people at the border than Donald’s. As it turns out, immigration is more than posing in front of a fence for a photo op.

This topic is much more complicated than we typically think. Also, people wanting to live here is a good thing. We need immigrants. I wished we thought deeper about our own impacts (directly and indirectly) on central and South America that lead to folks seeking asylum here. If we didn’t sell so many damn guns here or buy so many drugs, things would be different. So many people with moral failings just get addicted to the worst drugs. Or whine about jobs without doing anything to improve themselves. Wished they fixed their lives instead of always scapegoating immigrants.

i think he was chosen to shore up the support in the rust belt key states. Also that he's someone to carry on Trumps platform / legacy into the future

I think he brings youth (maybe gets some of the younger votes).

Maybe also helps trump not look racist because Vance is married to a POC.

That's a good question actually. He's a sycophant, so he's useful there. My only thing is, like Fishon pointed out, his wife is Indian and he's a jr. Senator from Ohio, but I doubt there was much reason on the latter part.

What he brings to the ticket is that if elected he will not oppose Trump as Trump violates the Constitution. That's who he is. He doesn't expand Trump's base.

His qualifications are FAR FAR FAR less than Kamala's and I'd put good money that he'd finish the term as POTUS if elected.
