What would you call it if it’s not moderate view? Left leaning? I don’t think that’s a fair assessment.
Getting rid of the filibuster is an extreme view.
Is deporting all illegal immigrants an extreme right wing idea? Yeah, it’s is. Maybe I shouldn’t sound like Kamala. Should we just call it right leaning?

I actually used to support the Filibuster, but to be honest, it lost its usefulness with the 17th. If we're to hold Senators accountable to the people, then their votes needs to be heard. Not protected behind some antiquated Gentleman's Agreement that has been chipped away over the last 2 decades anyway.

I have heard everyone talk about how they don't like the filibuster at times. Not a right vs left thing imo

filibuster is a tactic used in the United States Senate to delay or block a vote on a measure by preventing debate on it from ending.[1]: 2  The Senate's rules place few restrictions on debate; in general, if no other senator is speaking, a senator who seeks recognition is entitled to speak for as long as they wish.[2]: 716  Only when debate concludes (whether naturally or using cloture) can the measure be put to a vote.

allows the Senate to vote to limit debate by invoking cloture on the pending question. In most cases, however, this requires a majority of three-fifths of the senators duly chosen and sworn (60 votes if there is no more than one vacancy),[3]: 15–17  so a minority of senators can block a measure, even if it has the support of a simple majority.

In other words, when the filibuster is preventing something the right wants to get passed then they bitch about it. When it prevents something the left wants passed then they bitch about it.

It's a talking point. Have heard both sides talk about it many times.

I'm sure trump thinks it's an extreme leftist talking point though.

I know you won't watch these short clips. You can see both sides warning about the Nuclear Option. There is only one more that can happen, then it will fundamentally alters the way the Senate works. You let it happen now, fine, you won't like it when lets say Trump is in office and push through anything they want and the minority group has to sit and watch legislation go through without a way to stop it. Again short sighted view.

You can see what happened with the Supreme Court in these videos. The same people wanting to stack the Supreme Court are the ones that started the Nuclear Option pathway, that lead the way for Trump to choose 3 justices. McCain was right in both of these videos.

It’s certainly been revealing to me to see how many good decent people refuse to speak out against Trump or the problems he created yet they poo poo on every solution the Democrats propose to solve anything. They apparently have “zero opinions” on the racism, the corrupt and partisan activist court Trump created, or his clear unstable and disordered mind yet they have an inexhaustible supply of complains against Harris and the Democrats. It’s almost like they demand to be respected as typical conservatives while indulging in the Trumpism. They roll around in the pigsty but act all offended when someone dares accuse them of being dirty.

I should also note, has anyone from the left accused the “weaponized Biden DOJ” of targeting Adams? It’s certainly interesting that being a partisan DOJ, they sure have gone after a lot of their own party. They’ve gone after a sitting Democratic senator, the president’s own son, and now the Democratic mayor of New York City. Lawfare! Witch hunt! Am I doing this right?
 
It’s not the racism… it’s the illegal immigration. Republicans aren’t against brown people or the right type of immigrant. They just want a clearly defined process and want that process to be followed…

It is much, much worse than that. Nuking the filibuster is not the end goal. It is only a means to an end. The filibuster needs to be done away with to get the grossly misnamed John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act installed, which will end free and fair elections in our country, and pass court reform to make the composition of the Supreme Court beholden to the sham harvested elections. It will turn the United States into a one party state. The minority Republicans will have about as much power as they did in the 1930's, and about as much power as the Libertarian or Green party have today.

As things stand today, I do not think a GOP candidate can win a national election. If the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act becomes law, it'll be rare to see a GOP candidate win a statewide election anywhere. The House will be supermajority Democrat and the Senate could be close to 80% Democrat. Passing amendments to the US Constitution will once again be a thing that is possible, and you can bet any amendments will serve to permanently enshrine power to those elected by the new "advanced" elections.

They rely on low info voters now. Their propaganda networks just offer white grievance. If you’re a politician who wants to campaign on something sane, you won’t survive your primary. If you’re a propaganda network that isn’t serving the strong stuff, you’re going to lose your customers. That’s why Fox News peddled the big lie after initially declaring Biden the rightful winner.

The right has radicalized its base for so long that it’s created a death loop. The only way to force it to snap out of it is to deliver overwhelming defeats until it’s no longer lucrative to peddle the racism, paranoia, and stupidity.

This is 100% true. I actually categorize anyone who will vote Trump as a traitor. Seriously. After the coup attempt of Jan. 6 how could anyone voting for The Traitor not be one?

I don't. Also dont think they're dumb or evil or whatever.

People often vote for people they don't like and don't agree with and would rather not vote for.

When there are two choices that is what happens.

Now those who think trump is a terrific human being full of honesty and kindness who only wants what's best for the country and who think he is the greatest president of all time and sent from God to save us etc..... those people are dumbasses.
