What's new

Kanter loses 51 lbs in the past 2 months....

I just don't buy this. And losing that much weight that fast is never healthy.

Whatever. I just hope he's better conditioned although I have no real complaints in that regard last year.

Well the 1st 20 must have been pretty easy to lose since they were primarily a result of binge eating without physical activity.

I'm also skeptical he put on 30 pounds.

People that TRY to put on that much fat, that are much smaller, that carry much less muscle, that were already in much worse shape have a tough time putting on a pound a day. TRYING to put on a pound a day.

Yeah, it's all pretty tall tale-ish, but who knows. The amount of food Kanter says he eats in the SLC Tribune article is utterly ridiculous. Now picture eating all of that, but sitting on your *** all day.

Dirty Dirk weighs in at 245 and he's seven feet tall. I wouldn't compare them if Enes hadn't done it first. People seem to forget that Enes wanted to play the PF in the NBA. He runs fast enough to do it, and he's got a soft enough mid range jumper to pull it off. If he has really improved his vertical leap I would love him to play the four instead of the five assuming that Favors covers the five spot.

Having said that, I agree that weight is not the only factor to being a good center. Ben Wallace was only 240 at 6'9 and I am sure that almost anyone on this board would have been ok giving him the max in his prime. (ane he couldn't even shoot)

Kanter does look a lot thinner.

Personally I think we are going to see another Kendrick Perkins situation here. When your chief asset is that you can eat up space and throw a body on someone, you don't work your *** off to get rid of that asset. He'll put up similar stats as he did last year but won't be able to body people like he used to. Net loss.

Well if he is Kendrick Perkins, we are screwed.

I am trying to stay positive. I think he will wimprove. I do not think he will ever be that Allstar though.
I am hoping for a 10-10 guy. Next to Favors that I hope is a 20-12-5 guy.

I remember when I was the claimed "Kanter Hater".

So, people complained about his explosiveness. All the Kanter haters pointed to his "below the rim" game as a reason he would fail in the league. Now Kanter becomes more like a machine and increases his ability to run and jump and now people are complaining that he might be too light?

Make up your minds.

We have not seen evidence of that yet.

I don't see him being a mid-talent guy. Either he is a bust, or he rocks the game. Both are options still. But 1st one needs to be disproven by some solid on-court action by our boy Enes.

He is positive and has the love for the game. Those are the most important things to achieve smth. He's a hardworker as well. But he needs play time. Everybody is saying the same thing now. Show us what you got, and you're good to go on the road to be a star.
