Kanter traded to OKC

Omigod. Just saw what the Suns did. Feeling much better about the Kanter trade now.

Seriously. Traded Dragic for a decent return and probably just should have stopped there. Then turned IT and their best remaining asset in the Laker's pick into..... Brandon Knight? Unreal.

It's funny that we dump a young player in the name of "moving forward with the rebuild!" Kind of makes me wonder how many of our players we could dump and get everyone excited about "moving forward with the rebuild!"

Another situation to monitor would be GS... They have a cap crunch for a year. We could end up taking Lee or AI off their hands... I don't love it but we'd prolly get some assets for doing so.

Without the trade we'd be much more limited.

We have not had many years where we had cap space and were actively looking to be buyers. That was really the only year we ve had cap space and were actually looking to acquire talent. The other time we signed Terry and a aggregate but it got matched. Players will come here.

I think they signed Brad Miller to an offer sheet that also got matched that summer.

They added in Tyler ennis and miles Plumlee too... That was where it went from bad to ridiculous.

Don't remember that one but he fits the profile of a guy we'd want.

So not only we got **** in return for Kanter, but also sent clear message to the league that you can whine for any reason, justifiable or not, and then publicly demand a trade and get it at team's expense. Well done. If Gobert doesn't become a superstar people here claiming him to be, we are seriously ****ed.

When a player doesn't fit in and there are other players that deserve their minutes, that is when dumping a player is moving forward.

Too many contradictions....DL is fooling the fans...

I think we sent a message that if you act like a ***** you can GTFO.

WTH did people really think we could get for Kanter? I was hoping for a little more but this deal makes sense.

This trade isn't ideal but it's better than getting nothin or re-signing a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here.

This trade shines or crumbles based in DLs actions this offseason.

All the early over reacting both ways humors me.

I pretty sure everybody would be saying **** if Kanter hadn't been moved too.

Almost everybody agrees that he had to be traded....but he has been underselled! OKC made a huge deal!

Why the Jazz didn't push to involve in the trade Jeremy Lamb or Perry Jones instead of Perkins?

What better deal was out there? Do you not think DL called around?

Totally off topic, but Thomas Robinson (former #5 overall) was bought out tonight. The jazz lack bigs.

Exactly. "God, why did Lindsey let Kanter walk for nothing. It's just like Jefferson and Milsap all over again. Kanter's going to take the qualifying offer and then just leave - we won't be able to trade him now. Jesus, why isn't Gobert in the game? Favors sucks at center, wish we could play him at power forward. Man, I hate our draft position. If only we had more assets and could move up."

Jazzfanz 101: people will complain about everything except for the potential draft pick who is going to be amazing until he joins our team, whereafter we can complain about how he isn't developing fast enough.

Not picking on you - I have tons of respect for you.. This is the 4th or 5th time I've heard this and it's driving me nuts. I have to wonder how and when our standards got lowered to choices between a sub-standard deal or no deal at all. I think Jazz fans should expect more from their team - I know I do.

10 years ago The Jazz traded for a vet center who they then bought out and got a late first round pick. Only that trade was for a malcontent scrub with zero upside - Carlos Arroyo. Jazz just traded a number 3 pick with real upside for the same assets - insane.
