Kanter = Very Impressive

He has been a good rebounder and show flashes of good and bad defense. His footwork is great, but his finishing is about as bad as I have ever seen for a 6'11 player (not named the Collins brothers). His putback dunk does show hope for him being able to finish strong, but you have to remember on putback dunks you get two steps to gather yourself. Can Enes gather himself and finish strong off a dropstep, or no steps? That remains to be seen.

I'm actually surprised Corbin has been going to the Kanter post-up play as much as he has considering it has produced so little. It shows good confidence in him, so I trust Enes will eventually come around.

I'm just glad to see that Kanter's play has Cyrone softening on his hate spew. (I know, I know Cy, you don't hate Kanter .. what I meant to say is constantly bash.)
Kanter's doing exactly what I expected him to do. Rebound big, play hard, and get better in other areas faster than most rooks do.

Kanter blew up the treadmill stamina test at the combine.
What he lacks in explosiveness he will make up with endurance.

I know it's only three games, but Brandon Knight is averaging 14 ppg. How long will it be before Kanter averages 14 ppg, even over a three game period? Face it, we failed with our third pick.

How many more minutes is Knight averaging?

I know it's only three games, but Enes Kanter is 3rd in the NBA in rebounds per 48. How long will it take for Brandon Knight to get rebounding numbers like that? Face it, Detroit blew their pick. Wow .. that was fun.

And, in answer to your question, Kanter could be averaging 14 ppg by the end of THIS season if he keeps getting burn. So, your post is a fail.

Knight was picked #8. He was passed up by four other teams who all went big.
Knight at #3 would have been a mistake for Jazz.

You are so full of ****. You sometimes make fair and balanced observations, but they must first matchup with what you predicted would be the outcome. Your judgements are always spun in such a way to support any earlier assertion you had made. You'd have a lot more credibility with me (which should be everyone's ultimate goal) if I ever saw you once say you called something wrong and stand corrected. THAT is being truly balanced.

1. I don't even remember half of my predictions. I think I flip-flop on stands more than any other poster on this board also. I usually don't take a hard stance on anything other than not overreacting to things.
2. I usually admit when I'm wrong, especially when it's a positive that I'm wrong.

Enes Kanter Club-basketball history:

Last game played in euro-league:30/10/2008(3 years ago)

total number of game in euro-league:4

total minutes played:30

turkish league:

Last game played:11/2008

total number of game in TBL:5

total mintues played:less than 60

NCAA: games:0 minutes:0

so what im trying to say is,he played total 90 minutes of competitive club-level basketball untill Last week, so everone needs to be patient.

The vast majority of big men going from college to NBA struggle a LOT more than Kanter has. He's only 19 and shows more basketball IQ than most rooks, let alone 19-year-olds. And as others noted, he's absorbing his NBA lessons very quickly and applying the solutions just as quickly. He's very old-school; uses his strength and size very well to overcome his lack of jumping ability WITHOUT fouling. DEFINITELY looking forward to many years of Favors and Kanter. The anti-Fes...

It's a good thing he didn't play for KU last year cause there is no way he wouldn't have been the #1 pick! Thank you NCAA!!

As far as compareing knight and kanter as far as points. It is easy for a guard to generate scoring oppertunities, bigs not so much. In fact I have been disapointed by the amount of touches favors and kanter get because the guards cant seem to get the offense going.

Irving didn't really play either.

Anyways Kanter is looking great. He's not showing the potential Favors does but a guy that strong who runs and plays that hard will always have fans.

I was really impressed with him last night. I'm on board with him getting 15+ minutes. I don't know who he compares himself to but maybe he should be looking at tape from the 90's or earlier. This guy is a throwback, if there is a brawl we want him on our side.

What I like about Kanter most is the he appears to learn very quickly. He had an ok/good first game and each game has gotten better. That and he plays like a bull down low. I love tthe physicality we show when him and Favors are in together.

Great post. If we learned anything this summer from Kanter is that he learns quickly and adapts. He got better and better with each game, and then a set back would come and he'd learn from that and improve.

The more burn this kid gets the better he will get, and I'm counting on Ty to know this. If Kanter gets the minutes this season he'll be very, very productive.

Not that I would say I have the best eye for talent, but he does seem to pass the eye test out there, while guys like Kofus never did IMO.
Kanter definitely was an amazing draft pick for us and has the potential to be an all-star. I've said a few times previously that whatever we get out of him this season is a bonus. He's a kid that hasn't played organized 5 on 5 competitively in close to 2 years. God only knows what that adjustment is like for him right now in the ****ing NBA.

Last night he looked great in his minutes, but there will be nights he looks lost. I just hope Jazz fans give this KID a chance to come into his own. He is most DEFINITELY a keeper.
