Kanter = Very Impressive

I think we really need to understand where Kanter has come from and what we've potentially have here.
Yeah he hasn't played more than 90 minutes of 5on5 ball for 2 years, and before that he was playing against highschool talent. Concidering what he's doing now, this kid could be special. He has next to no real basketball experience and he's busting skulls out there with pro's.

Maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised with a 10/20 season in the next few years.
Dennis Rodman, who was probably the greatest rebounder of the modern era, managed to average 18.7 rebounds per game with 40 mpg.
Not saying it's impossible, but quite frankly, it's impossible. Especially when you factor in he will be sharing a frontcourt with Favors, who is no shabby rebounder himself.
So you think he will average 15 ppg this year and then higher for the rest of his career? We really have no idea how much he will average, but his offensive game is more polished then Favor's at this time last year (athleticism doesn't guarantee efficient scoring at all), he has a better touch than most bumping big men, he can develop his offensive approach much like Z. Randolph's, he is 19 (hasn't played consistently in years), and he broke the Nike Hoop Summit record for most points scored in a game (against the best players of his own age in the world). I for one would recommend waiting til he's old enough to buy liquor before you start making bold predictions about his career ppg. Spencer Hawes scored 15 last night after all.

KANTER also led Turkey in scoring in most of their euro games last summer. Kanter is a scorer and will eventually show that,and we will be feeding him in the post for years.

Yeah I think everyone's expecting Kanter to become the first player in over 40 years to average 20 rebounds in a season.

I love watching Kanter when he's within 4 feet of the bucket (even though he can't actually score from that distance). It hurts to watch Kanter anywhere else. It's going to take a while for him, but you get glimpses which give me hope.

I have been really impressed with Kanter. I was glad when the Jazz selected him. I think his offense will come around. He has a nice touch at the free throw line so i think he can make outside shots. I just think he is rusty and adjusting to the speed of the NBA game.
He reminds me of a big Wes Unseld or a more athletic Jeff Ruland. Kanter does need to work on his lift but he is a man when he grabs those rebounds. I think in his prime when he is getting 35 minutes I think he can have some 20 rebound games. I think it is ridiculous to say the Jazz blew the pick just because Knight is playing well. I know it is hard to believe but every draft has good players. You just hope you get one of them. Time will tell if Knight or Kanter was the best pick. Personally, I would have picked Kanter because the Jazz needed another big man. I am not sold on Knight being a PG who distributes.

what sets enes kanter apart from most of the rookies over the last 10 years? i think it's his filled body, brute strength for his age but especially, it's his high motor, energy level and rebounding which are all off the charts, imo. it's on an elite level already (he is already a top three rebounder, averaging 21 per 48 mins and i don't expect his rebounding numbers to fall much at all). his rebounding, body and motor are all nba ready.
in his first year, kanter should focus to score on putbacks, dunks and free throws (he has a solid percentage from the free throw line). he has solid skills, solid moves and a good footwork along with a soft touch, but they need polish. he is still raw. he as well needs experience to gain confidence, he needs time. i think that he should use his midrange game more and his face up game a little bit as well. he needs to learn to pass a litte bit more out uf the post and should not force things. as well, he should not rely only on his strength, power, that's how he used to score against weaker and inferior opponents.
kanter is a solid athlete, runs the floor very well, has solid agility, solid quickness. his lateral quickness isn't bad neither. but his explossiveness is not great, he doesn't jump off the floor quickly (it's more because of his built, he has thick legs, a strong base), but his vertical jumping ability is not bad. he has solid fundamentals, a good basketball iq and is a quick learner as well a hard worker. some more length would not hurt, he is a 6-11 player with a 7-1.5 wingspan right now, but might have some room to grow (7 footer with a 7-2 wingspan, 9-2 or 9-2.5 standing reach). his lack of explosiveness might mean that he won't be a solid shot blocker, but he has solid instincts and timing. he should be a good one on one defender and not less than an average help defender as well. all in all, i think his defense will for sure be an upgrade over jefferson or boozer.
my predictions for the next 4 years:
1st season: 6 ppg / 7rpg
2nd season: 9 ppg / 8 rpg
3th season: 12 ppg / 9.5 rpg
4th season: 14.5 ppg / 11 rpg
but how the hell are we going to keep both, favors and kanter after their rookie contracts? they will demand much money, it might be difficult. i like favors at center and kanter at the power forward position, we should be able to dominate with both players after 2 years or so. i can't name many big men duo that have as much pontential as both...

i agree. knight might score a little bit, but he had two games with solid playing time where he had zero assists. i'd take a center that rebounds on an elite level over a point guard that is rather a two and not much of a distributer. by the way, i like watson and tinsley more running the point than harris. we need a distributer and knight is a combo guard à la harris. if kanter had a chance to play in the college, he would have been the number one pick imo.

i'm very optimistic about a starting line up in two years that includes favors (c), kanter (pf), hayward (sf) and burks (sg). we are missing a true distributer at the point guard postition that can shoot the ball from the outside. we need a true pure point guard who is young and can grow with the other four guys. i'm thinking long term, we should rebuild and keep only milsap from all the veterans (well, he is still young). jefferson and harris have definitely to be traded, we should use them both to get a point guard which fulfills the criterias. they are not players that deserve this kind of money and have no place in what we are trying to build.

Overpowering 6'8'' European centers with limited athletic ability and limited explosiveness is not the same as being a consistent low post scorer in the NBA night in and night out. Kanter has to develop some low post moves, more precisely a go to move down low and some sort of a shot if he is going to be a decent scorer in the NBA. The third pick in the NBA draft needs to be a difference maker! Is Kanter that? Or will he become that?
Kind of related...my favorite moment from the broadcast last night came about 5 minutes after Boler and Harpring had discussed how Kanter must be a WWE fan because he wants to be called "The UnderKanter". Enes gets his putback dunk, and Harpring exclaims "There he is! The KanterTaker!"
