Kanter vs Drummond

When it was all said and done Kanter trounced Drummond's SL performance. I think it was a case of Kanter just being rusty that first game more than Drummond playing masterful defense.

-------Kanter / Drummond

MPG: 26 / 24.2
PPG: 10.4 / 7.4
FG%: .50 / .50
FT%: .66 / .25
RPG: 8.8 / 5.4 :D
APG: 1.4 / .4
BPG: .8 / 2
SPG: 1.2 / 1.2
PF: 2.8 / 4

Kanter only loses in one of all qualifying stats. I didn't include turnovers given no one really knows their teamates very well, but Drummond would win two categories if it was to be counted. I included personal fouls because Drummond fouled at such a high rate he wouldn't even be able to stay on the floor in a normal game, and that is very relevant.

If you have a PF who could really score, I think Drummond would be a very good pair-up. Drummond is a beast of a man on the defensive end.

That's why I think Portland blew it by not pairing Drummond with Aldridge.

If Kyrylo Fesenko had Memo's 3-point shot he'd be on a max contract now.

Ooo, this sounds fun. Let me try a couple...

If Alex Burks could let go of the rock, he could be a point gaurd.

If Paul Milsap could grow 3 inches, he could be a starting pf.

If Hayward wasn't white, he wouldn't get punked so much.

If Coach Corbin would utilize the corner three, he would win the championship.

If Jerry would have got an iPad, he would still be coaching.

If Jeremy Evans gained 40 pounds, he would only be 20 pounds too lite.

If Kanter could jump, he would be a hell of a lot better.

You left out "If Horny grows a mustache he'd be coaching the Magic by now".

;)

I have no idea who Drummond is, but I'm sure he won. (unless they were having a statue contest)

I was impressed with Drummond. I think he will be very good in the league. Both guys are so young and inexperienced it is hard to tell what type of career they will have. Of course I would take Drummond on athleticism but his FTs are embarrassing. I think Enes improved as the SL went on and again I think the criticism is pretty harsh considering Enes is barely 20 years old. I think Detroit has done well the last couple of drafts with Knight, Monroe and Drummond. I think that is a very nice core of young players.

I agree that Portland will look back on this draft and wish they had taken Drummond to part with Aldridge but what do you expect from Portland. They have made some of the biggest draft gaffes in NBA history (Bowie over Jordan, Oden over Durrant). Now it won't be so bad if Lillard is as good as some people think he is.
