Kanter watch

It's OK. it's just a few clicks away from a moderator who sees this and is not feeling lazy.

This is OK, too.

Not sure if "Kanter's Revenge" is really basketball. . . . more of a mental health thread.

I have issues with Jazz management.

Hardly can be called a revenge. He just needed out thinking there is no future left in here for him. I hope it won't be like Boozer with fans because Enes is a good guy and a naive one so he can get heartbroken.

So he was mad about his role as the 2nd or 3rd option and now he is the 4th or 5th option. He will get no shots and if he isnt getting shots why the hell would they play him? Sucks for Kanter.

I think the Jazz just gave Kanter a big FU. He's going to OKC to be what? A backup big averaging less minutes than he did in Utah. He might start but is he really going to get more minutes competing with, Adams, Ibaka, and Collison? And is he going to get more shots than he did in Utah while playing with Westbrook and Durrant? The Jazz just sent him to maybe the worst landing spot in the league for a big man looking for a big contract next season.

With Steven Adams being hurt for a couple of weeks I actually think this gives Kanter a great opportunity to prove if he can be a positive factor to winning basketball.

What really sucks is that Kanter was improving on D. Plus with Gobert behind him it hid some of his defensive short comings. Honestly Kanter is a ****ing idiot for wanting out. Gobert gave him possibly the best opportunity to succeed that he will ever have. Gobert could clean up after Kanter and Kanter being better offensively would get more touches. He will not have the same opportunity elsewhere.

OKC is a horrible fit for Kanter. Even if he starts for the next two weeks he won't get a lot of touches. On the defensive end, well we all know his problems there. Why do you think OKC has such a hard on for Adams? Do you think it's because he can score? or because he is a defensive presence. Adams fits Kanter don't.

yes I know I should have said doesn't #****thewrittenword

Really? I always heard about how OKC needs a post threat more than defense.

It would be nice but not at the expense of defense.

Make no mistake OKC brought kanter in as a bench threat. He will not earn a starting spot in OKC. He will get fewer mins. He will get fewer touches.

How much better is Adams really on defense???

Also I agree that Thunder did probably bring him to play off the bench. Kanter should dominate the benches of most teams after always having to practice against derrick favors and Rudy Gobert.

In OKC too he will be more valuable as a bench player, especially if he plays his minutes when RW and KD are off the court. He would contribute big time to OKC's scoring while these two big deal dudes are resting. If he learns to play their game, he can jump to the starting line up in no time. I'm sure they'll experience with him as a starter since he has offensive game. And since Adams is off for 3 weeks. But after that, we shall see. Not everyone is Rudy though, maybe it won't be that hard for him to compete with Adams like he did with Rudy. It's a good thing he has Ibaka near him for the Rudy effect to patch his defensive wounds. Maybe this is the main reason he can actually be a good fit in OKC.

As expected since Adams is hurt Kanter gets the start tonight. I would say he will probably be very lost on both ends of the floor but I think learning a system confuses him and he probably will do better lost and hopefully just focus on rebounds and tip ins.

Wait you think he will be more valuable as a 3rd/4th option with OKC starters than he was here as a 2nd/3rd option with the starters. As far as the bench goes he was the man in Utah. It was basically him and Burke. Our bench is a bunch of D-leaguers. Wasn't his season high like 32pts this year?(with Rudy getting big minutes) Do you honestly think he will have the opportunity to put up those numbers in OKC?

Also he wasn't really competing with Rudy. Rudy complemented Kanter really well. Rudy cleaned up after Kanter and Kanter is a better scorer. He was competing against himself and the system. Minutes wise he was competing with Booker. If he had bought into the system he could have eaten all of Bookers minutes. Unfortunately he was too concerned with his own numbers and too stubborn to realize that if he passed the ball teams would stop double teaming him. His turnovers would come down his fg% would go up and he would still put up the same number of points. If he takes that me first attitude to OKC he is going to spend a lot of time on the pine.

The truth is Kanter was much more valuable to Utah than he will ever be to OKC. Kanter bit the hand that fed him.
