Kemba Walker CANCELS workout against Jimmer!!!

2 things:

#1 What does Kemba have to gain by performing against Jimmer?
#2 Why do so many here apparently think that Kemba will have a better NBA career? Kemba is a SG. He rarely handled the ball at UCONN, especially in tight situations. As Locke said the other day, Kemba will need to DRASTICALLY change his game to survive in the NBA. Jimmer, while needing to develop more PG skills (he improved drastically in getting other guys involved and ball handling from just his junior to senior years), can already do many things that Kemba cannot. Plus, his shooting will never need to be adjusted.

Don't disagree, other than that in bold.

Actually, what does even Jimmer really gain by performing against Kemba?

Seriously? Perhaps the fact that Jimmer currently sits as a fringe lottery pick and Kemba is considered a better pro prospect by most, if not all of the NBA scouts? If Jimmer were to clearly outplay Kemba during a head-to-head workout, how would it not help his draft status?

You're unreal man. Worst Jimmer Fanboy ever.

As Locke said the other day, Kemba will need to DRASTICALLY change his game to survive in the NBA. He came off picks, he shot the ball off cuts and curls, he plays like a SG. If given the choice between the 2, I'd take Jimmer. At least I know he can shoot the brains out of the basket. At least I know he can be counted on to nail a few 3s from 3 feet behind the line. At least I know he won't be a liability at the FT line. With Kemba? How do I know he won't be out of this league in the next 3 years? He won't be able to drive and score inside with his size. I know he won't be able to play the point real effectively. And I know his shot sucks.

So what does Kemba bring to the table exactly? As I've said before, he's UCONN's version of Mateen Cleaves. Great college player, poor NBA.

Jared Jack. Zoob. You blow like PeeWee Herman. You blow like Jared Jack.

I agree with Jazzman12 that Fredette has much to gain from going up against Kemba, while Kemba can't gain anything going up against Fredette. Right or wrong, many consider Kemba > Fredette. But if Fredette schools Kemba one on one then the Kemba > Fredette status will be threatened. Kemba might fall from pick 5-7 to pick 13-17.
I'm glad the general impression many have is that Kemba>Jimmer because I think Jimmer could very likely be the better player, and I want him to fall to 12.

The thing that helps Kemba's stock is his team won a lot. He's a champion. He has charisma and intangibles and this is what compensates for his stature (which is a little small but not tiny) and will ultimately get him chosen before Fredette. And again, I'm glad because I'd rather have Fredette.

Right or wrong, Kemba is projected to go before Fredette and many think he'll be a starter whereas Fredette is considered a backup at best. Perhaps he does.

then again, if Jimmer were to dominate Kemba, wouldn't the naysayers on this board still have a lot of doubts? Even if he dominated Kemba, that's not saying much nor does it go to eliminate the #1 weakness Jimmer might have, defense (although I don't feel it's as bad as many make it sound nor do I feel like good defense is necessary for a PG. They can't touch anyone anyway).

Yeah, regardless of accomplishments naysayers always say nay.
I like Fredette's eagerness to prove his doubters wrong, but I still don't think he'll be an elite defender. He'll probably be like Deron, which wasn't great. Which proves your point that PGs don't necessarily need to be great defensively to still be effective. Defense is a team game or not at all. The rules force you to play defense as a team or it's free throws for the opponent.

Again, I'm thrilled Fredette has so many naysayers - it's mind boggling and I love it. Jazz should be able to grab him at 12. The only one I might take before Jimmer there if he falls is Bismack. But I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'd still take Fredette. I gotta wait for word outta EuroCamp. Is Bismack gonna be there?

I wouldn't be impressed one bit if Jimmer domniated Kemba. In fact, I have a hunch that he would. I just happend to be extremely low on Kemba as a pro prospect. Now, If Jimmer were to handily out perform Kyrie Irving or Brandon Knight in a head-to-head workout, I would gladly give him his due. And we're talking about outperforming them in almost every area, not just shooting.

I read some where that D. Morris outplayed Jimmer in the NY workout. It doesn't really matter because players can have bad days. The smart decision-makers don't just look at the workouts when they make their picks.

1. Jared?
2. Jarred?
3. Jaredd?

these are all good guesses
we know his last name is J-a-c-k-**** and that zoob boy luvs
It could only be Jared.

I would pick Morris over Jimmer and it's not even close.

I bet no one saw that coming.

Believe it or not, I think we both see eye to eye on this issue.

Kemba's stock will fall because of this, I guarantee it. Not a smart move to avoid the big bad Jimmer.

I'm pretty sure Jimmer will be the better pro. Even if everything surrounding the guy is the essence of annoying.

Absolute no brainer move by Kemba. Everything to lose and nothing to gain. I am sure his agent put the brakes on this. There is nothing new about this kind of thing happening.
