Kemba Walker CANCELS workout against Jimmer!!!

I know you only have 48 posts, but you've been "official" since March.
This is what we do, we jump to conclusions and usually assume the worst.
Someone pointed out in another thread I think... that after pages and pages of posts.... he has realized that we know nothing.
This is true... but we still talk, and give our opinions, and bash other people's opinions, and assume, and all that.
It's what makes this place fun, and absurdly annoying at the same time.
This place rocks!

Well said. You're right, it's fun. I guess I get my giggles by bringing logic into everyone's emotional rants (it's like take the high ground, I feel like I'm better than everyone else, quite shallow really :))

Believe it or not, I've been posting on this forum since 1999 (but I take breaks every now and then... it's easy for me to get addicted to it, so I didn't re register when the forum went down last year.)

I understand, I've been trying to break my addiction for months, but keep coming back. I used to "lurk" but finally decided to start posting and I haven't been able to stop yet. It's a pretty interesting mixture of nice, good, crazy, and creepy people here. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. I can't wait for the draft to be over so we can speculate on something else... maybe get a new mix of crazy draft ideas.

Walker and Fredette will be competing against one another in front of the Jazz

As the draft nears, NBA teams will pit the most intriguing prospects head-to-head in hopes of gaining more insight for when judgement day arrives. After canceling his Sacramento Kings workout vs. Jimmer Fredette, Kemba Walker has rescheduled, just this time for the Utah Jazz. The duo could also be joined by guard Brandon Knight. With two picks in the lottery, this workout will be pivotal for Utah’s front-office. From the Salt Lake Tribune: “Fredette and Walker were set to work out together Thursday for Sacramento. However, Walker pulled out of the session due to a scheduling conflict. The duo attempted to pair up for several workouts during the build up toward the June 23 NBA Draft, but their lone remaining matchup is with the Jazz. Fredette said last Friday that he expects to work out for the Kings, Phoenix and Utah by mid-June. Meanwhile, Walker will reportedly work out Tuesday for Toronto, Wednesday for Detroit and June 13 for Sacramento. Walker is projected as an early first-round pick, while Fredette is expected to be chosen during the middle to late first round. Fredette tested well during the recent draft combine, though, and was impressive during workouts last week with Indiana and New York. With just 16 days remaining before selection day, Fredette wants to prove that he can compete with highly touted guards such as Walker and Knight.”

more, from Chad Ford:

The bigger story? Walker changed the workout date in Sacramento to facilitate a shot at working out with a player who has been reluctant to work out with anyone -- Knight.

...

For those mourning the loss of a Kemba-Jimmer head-to-head in Sacramento (one none of us would actually see) ... you may still get your wish. As of right now, both players are scheduled to work out for the Jazz on the 15th.

And for those of you wanting a Kemba-Knight rematch, you may get your wish, too. The Jazz have told Knight's camp that they strongly prefer that Kemba and Knight work out together and have a bit more leverage to make it happen.

@JazzSpazz and others

I need some life advice. Should I let people talk about their crazy trade ideas or should I shut them down?

Just the other day a friend sent me a facebook message that said the following:

Millsap, Miles, Evans and the #3 pick to Cleveland for the #1 and 4 picks and potentially a player or two.

Bell, Okur and the 2012 pick to Minnesota for the #2 pick.

He said his source was a friend who knows people in Jazz management.

I informed him about how trades work and that salaries have to match (and none of those do.) I tried to be polite when I told him I didn't think it would be a good idea to give away Millsap at $6 million (a bargain) for a question mark. Then I gave my spiel about how Kevin O'Connor usually doesn't allow any leaks before he makes trades.

Despite the fact that I tried to be nice, I think he still felt kinda foolish for suggesting and believing in those trades.

Am I a horrible person? Should I let people dream even though their dreams are obviously ridiculous?

Man I would do that trade in a second but it is funny how crazy some people get when making up trades. Dreams are fine but being delusional is either time for education or a therapist.
