In all reality, Duke should have been swept by UNC. They're much better than us.

Mark Jackson played 15 years ago, it's time to stop using him as an example. The game has changed...you think our defense with Harris is bad right now? Marshall gets blown up by mediocre guards in college, he will get absolutely destroyed in the NBA. It's not just about athleticism, he has slow feet laterally, can't stay in front of a guy to save his life. He can't drive on people, he can't shoot. I don't know how you think he's going to create a lot of offense when everybody knows the only thing he can do is pass. What's going to happen when there's 10 seconds left and we have to score to win? Their defenders are going to pack in the middle, hardly guard Marshall and he won't be able to do anything about it because he can't shoot.
 
^^^ Agree. It's not like Marshall is an unknown playing for a mid-major .. there's a reason why DX has him going #19 rather than in the lottery .. and it's not because his passing skills are in question.

... and yes, UNC should have swept Duke this year.

Gotta say though, Duke seems to just hand him the ball and let him single handedly break down the defense..

A lot of Marshall's assists have led to 3's .. so it did rely a lot on shooters to make them.

If it was my team, with the game on the line, Rivers would be taking the final shot.

Same here. Whether it's shooting a 3 or getting to the rim.
 
Marshall seems to be improving offensively. That is a good sign that he will continue to improve. People compare his lack of shooting to Rondo, but has Rondo ever shown improvement?

No. And I'd bet Marshall improves his shot enough to not be sagged completely off of. I also predict he'll not ever be as good as Rondo, however.
 
I watched the game till the Mavs game came on. Dominant performance by UNC.

Marshall had a great game. 20 and 10, 4 rebounds and 4 TOs.
UNC had 13 assists total. 10 of them from Marshall.

I hope we draft someone from UNC. 3 UNC players are in the 11-20 range..
It's a good match for the Jazz. The offense looks similar, crash the boards, and on transition, the big men run hard.
