You have resorted to acting 12 years old, time after time. I suspect you're 12 years old. Adults stick to the topic at hand.
ageist.

Just to clarify my thoughts on Marshall, I do think that he is a good PG and that he definitely does have a niche in the NBA...I'm just not sure as to where he fits into our future plans as a team. As of right now I just don't think he would be a good fit for us and the players we have.
Out of our 4 youngs, 2-3 of them cut real well. Both bigs run the floor. All 4 of the youngs sprint the floor on fastbreaks. Favors is a great finisher.
I don't see why Marshall, a great passer, doesn't fit with these 4 youngsters.
Marshall's UNC team also seems to run post ups quite a bit, so he'd be very familiar with how we post up our bigs and with how much we do it.
Nothing wrong with that thought process, but you must also consider that UNC has good to great perimeter shooters in Barnes, Bullock, and Hairston. That helps make space for the post guys.
That's true, but by the time this new PG+4 youngster thing comes into fruition (2-3 years), I'm guessing we'll have that many respectable shooters on the perimeter. Especially if we draft Miller along with Marshall. Remember when Hayward was the best 3 point shooter in the NBA post February last year? Burks has shown a nice touch as well.
That's all I've been saying about Marshall ... must have great perimeter shooting .. or his poor shooting and lack of athleticism will prove a greater detriment than his passing skills are worth.
This is essentially all that needs to be said on Marshall.

Shooters we can get easily via trades (Morrow, Wright, Cook, Kapono, Korver)...
..., but elite passing PG we can't. Can you name one we can get via trade right now without gutting our roster?
Tony Parker - not an elite passer
Russell Westbrook - not an elite passer
Derrick Rose - not an elite passer
Jrue Holiday - not an elite passer
Jameer Nelson - not an elite passer
Jeff Teague - not an elite passer
Darren Collison - not an elite passer
Mario Chalmers - not an elite passer
Ty Lawson - not an elite passer
Chris Paul - elite passer
Steve Blake/Derek Fisher - not elite passers
Rajon Rondo - elite passer
These are the PG's for the top teams in the NBA right now. Having an elite passer is overrated, especially if they can't shoot.
Bolded Players - not a bad company to be in. Also how about these guys? I'd consider them elite passers as well:
Derron Williams?
Rubio?
Irving?
Nash?
Kidd?
You seems to have missed quite a few.
OH .. and elite passers are so hard to come by. Why wouldn't you grab it while you can?
I KNOW I'll get bashed for this, but I think it's a solid philosophy .. Calipari says, give me the 5 biggest guys, that are all athletes, can all score, shoot, pass, rebound, and play d .. and I don't care about positions.
None of the players you listed play on the top teams in the NBA like I mentioned...except for Kidd. I forgot about him, my apologies. And yes, those are good PG's, but elite passers do not necessarily mean winning teams...just look at it, out of all the top teams, there are only 3 "elite" passers. And all of them also have the ability to score, something Marshall doesn't have. The times are changing, you can't have a guy who's good at just one thing be your PG, he has to be multi-faceted. Marshall isn't.
No they're not on the "top teams" - only due to circumstances beyond their control (i.e., Nash, DWill, Rubio (rebuilding), Irving (rebuilding), etc, etc).
As analysed in earlier posts, Kidd didn't come into NBA with a big scoring/shooting reputation. Neither is Rubio. Your view that players don't improve is sickening to me. Also you have players like OJ Mayor who came into the NBA as a known scorer, but doesn't have the height or physicality to eventuate into a great player - that's also a risk with a player like Rivers.
Again - if the only problem you don't like Marshall in Utah cos we don't have shooter - there are plenty of shooters we can get via trades. Elite passers you just simply cannot get via trades.

I've been bashed for saying that Burks should defend the opposing PG while Hay plays PointForward for 7 minutes a game.
