What's new

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

He has a PER of 12.8 and wants $25 million a year? LOL. K.

I'd offer something in Ingles' range since the Jazz should just be targeting anyone they can hope to liquidate into a draft pick/package in a trade later. ONLY net-positive contracts (and obviously so) moving forward, though, and no trading 1sts unless a legit star is coming back (I'd love Crowder, but I think sending a 1st would be bad). If the Jazz aren't going to blow it up, then they need to at least add whatever talent (preferably very young and/or star players, or something like this in lieu of that) on the fly and keep trying to flip pennies into nickels, nickels to dimes, etc. This is my best answer as to what the Jazz should do now.

But this seems unlikely. Still, worth a shot, I think. I'm not up-to-speed on the Jazz's cap situation.

True. As mentioned in my post above, though, Jazz just need to be stockpiling assets right now, so they need to be looking at any/everything.
Agreed

Bring him in for an interview, say a lot of positive things, and eventually force Brooklyn to overpay, lessening their ability to offer Hood a ridiculous contract.

Or the Jazz can just extend Hood and not worry about letting him rest the market. Considering the Jazz free agent and salary situation next year, I'm leaning towards just locking up the guys they want to build around. Nobody seemed to have a hard time doing sign and trades this year to circumnavigate the salary cap. Jazz can play that game too if they need to.
