What's new

Kentucky coach John Calipari discusses Turkish center Enes Kanter.

i read this in hoopshype,
Ryan Feldman: If Jazz/Kanter really liked each other, they'd say the meeting/workout went great. But they didn't, so somebody is unhappy.

and its actually the same question back again, is this a strategy for us to keep quiet not to make minnesota draft kanter and rip some players out of our team, or we are unhappy with the workout?

Feldman blew this way out of proportion. He thought because he's spoken with Kanter's agent before that he'd be able to get all the goods on his workout, but even after Kanter went against competition in the Cleveland workout he still didn't really get any info on how it went.

How many times in the last 5 drafts, has KOC loudly praised in advance the player he was going to draft?

Right now, the Jazz have done a good job of keeping their cards close. At this point, it could legitimately be Williams, Kanter, Knight, or Vesely. No one knows with any certainty who the Jazz will take or what they will do on draft day.

Calipari is the best recruiter and one of the best judges of talent. I find it wierd that he didn't mention Knight at all or at leats until the end. That makes me more nervous about Knight than Kanter, as Calipari is also the a big hype-artist. Why wouldn't he give a few sentences of hype towards Knight as well.

There is no need to hype Knight. If Cleveland takes Williams, the lowest Knight goes is 4 to Cleveland. If Cleveland takes Irving, the lowest Knight goes is three or five. Knight is a sure thing draft wise, no need to pimp him.
