What's new

Kessler's girlfriend is the new Miss America

The average straight guy probably chooses his breeding partner from about 10 possible realistic candidates. And, statistically, he is pretty happy with his choice afterwards. A guy like Kessler can have a selection pool of several hundreds, and he will be equally happy with many dozens of them. It makes perfect sense to select a tall woman and set up his kids for the best future (it is very, very common for the kids of the NBA players to also play basketball from a very young age and to have very high expectations).
Kessler on his death bed:

"I should have held out for Miss Universe".

"...can have a selection of several hundreds..."

Dude chose Miss America. Sure she might explode giving birth to his children but I'd still say he picked damn well.

Want to add a cold-blood calculated athlete baby? Get a surrogate or whatever. Dont choose your life partner based on that.

Locke said this morning that she's been his GF since Auburn days and that he did indeed take separate transportation (rather than getting on the team bus) after the game in order to rush over to see her win.
The way you worded this in one sentence and starting talking about Auburn, I was thinking you were initially meaning that he took separate transportation at Auburn in general, partially because I’m thinking about Doug Christie, until that last line made it clear it meant Sunday. Did anyone else read it that way? I think it’s funnier reading it that way.

Damn, guys. I’m so out of touch that when I heard Walker Kessler’s girlfriend my mind immediately went to Kyle Filipowski’s girlfriend since she’s the one there was so much drama with before. It didn’t click until my wife told me she was 22.

So, your suggestion is to pick life partners based on such ephemeral and superficial thing as an attractive face? I think that considerably improving the chances to have happy and financially successful kids (since many children of professional basketball players try to replicate their career and success) matters way more in life. Especially, since there are many, many women who are attractive but also athletic and tall.

Think about Bronny: how much happier he and his dad would be now if he simply was 4 inches taller? Basketball is a cruel world were height is everything for all kids and adults living in it. If NBA players see themselves encouraging their children to play ball (which almost all of them do) not trying to give their kids the gift of height is very unkind.

Well he did play in Utah so that story checks out. Anyway if it's good enough for Prince Andrew and President Trump it's good enough for Jazz nation!!

I've always liked that line in Moneyball where the scout has doubts on a player cause his girlfriend is ugly. Must have low confidence. Always makes me chuckle.
If I remember correctly, the scout on Moneyball who said that was a portly middle-aged man that no one would call handsome or sexy. His wife must have been thoroughly lacking in confidence to marry that slob.

I'm just saying his girlfriend is a 6 at best.... The whole scene looks like a nursing home bingo game. Who's Fabio? he's a short stop from Seattle. ****ing awesome.

Ease up on the portly middle aged man talk, that's a little too close to home!!!

No it wasnt. Dont put words in my mouth. Just saying she is Miss America, which doesnt hurt. You pick life partners based on who you feel good being with and who makes you happy.

If Miss America turned out to be a real nice girl who laughs at the same jokes you do and who loves you as you are, then thats pretty much the gold standard of partnering.

You are the doofus here who says you need to calculate gene odds to choose optimal breeding partners.
