Kings sign Aaron Brooks - Jimmer on way out?

Well, shooting is 50% legs. Jimmer just got married. So now we can say with 100% certainty that "It" weakens the legs. In a few months, when the newlyweds are no longer going at it like a couple of bunnies, his legs will be stronger and his shooting stroke will have returned.

Hmm.. on the contrary I think shooting is 80% mental. So a happy married life should lead to a better playing career.

"It" to be honest should lead to happier life? Who wouldn't agree?

The problem is that Jimmer likes to dribble a bunch before he shoots. That doesn't work with talented teammates and a 24 second shot clock. He did play better today, but he just doesn't know how he should play in the NBA.

Sooooooo who on the jazz can nail a 3?

Hilarious to watch the anti-BYU crowd bash Jimmer.

The guy certainly didn't deserve to be drafted so high. In hindsight, neither did most of those players. Heck, I think a case could be made that we took Kanter way too high. If anything, if he busts he'll be a bigger disappointment than Jimmer.

Jimmer can play. He's a good 7th man. He's far better than Steve Blake (who has been in the league for a long time).

Well Mo & Marv are looking good for that role.

Then throw in Burks (slashing), Favors and Millsap/Jefferson.

Jimmer can shoot it - no doubt - but he just can't do anything else well (defend, dribbling, passing, rebounding, he's just not very athletic full stop).

So what's the different between him and Kevin Murphy?

Nothing anti-byu about making objective comments about Jimmer. I am not convinced Jimmer is a bust or that he will contribute long term in NBA. Like Kanter, it could still go either way. However, it is well documented that his current coach has questioned whether JF can play point in the NBA. His decision making, ball-handling, and defense have all been questioned. Locke mentioned that the Kings left Isaiah off the summer league to see if JF can do it. Not sure how he knows that but it makes complete sense. Now the Kings sign another point guard which makes Jimmer the 3rd of 4th option - not a glowing vote of confidence. So go ahead and dismiss it as anti-byu but anyone with any degree of objectivity has to admit that Jimmer's NBA future is a question.

If I remember the post draft reports correctly, KOC was high on Jimmer and tried to make it work that the Jazz could draft Jimmer. Most people on this board appear to trust in KOC for the other moves that he has made recently. Just because Jimmer has had a bad experience in Sacramento doesn't make him a bad ball player.

Well if he would have listened to Austin Collie magic would happen. It's obvious Jimmer wasn't living right or he wouldn't have the excessive dribbling and wouldn't have lost his shot.

Can't wait until they start popping out little jimmer's left and right.

I am looking forward to the hours of vomiting that will ensue after we see the sixth poll started about what the Jimmer twins will be named and have they comitted to BYU yet and will they forgoe their mission for college, and gee wiz I am gushing for the jazz to draft them young men to play together.

Jimmer fans, there is something strange about the sexual stalking nature in your attraction to him. Just because he smiles on TV doesn't mean he loves you!

I'm as down on Jimmer as anybody, but the Vinnie Johnson/Jason Terry dream for him is still very much alive. He can't drive yet, and most importantly he doesn't set anybody up. But there's still hope he can be a plus bench player who excels in the margins of starting and backing up. But I'm happy that's not our problem just the same.

How can he be a "good" 7th or 8th player in the NBA, when he can't even be a good 7th or 8th player on an awful Sac team? A good 7th or 8th NBA player playing for Sac would be their 2nd, 3rd, or at worst, their 4th best player.

He put up better numbers than Terry and Johnson in his rookie year. I'm not in the Jimmer Army by any stretch, just saying his rookie numbers don't mean a lot (yet). He absolutely can shoot and does have a knack for getting his own shot. He just can't pass the ball like those guys which is the major hurdle. But he'll definitely improve as a scorer.

He was? KOC is all about throwing smokescreens. He also talked up Brandon Knight and had just about everyone convinced Knight was going to be the pick. I actually think KOC would have had a very difficult choice if Fredette had still been on the board. May have taken Jimmer just to avoid the riot that would have broken out at the ESA. I think KOC was targeting Thompson or Burks all along with the 12th pick. Thank heavens Sacramento bought into Jimmermania. Just imagine how many would now be calling for KOC's head on a pike if he had taken Fredette. Or worse, traded up to #8 by sacrificing a future pick.

You may be directing your question to me .. since I said he could be a good 7th or 8th man. I did mean on a team, not in the NBA. Too lazy to look up what I said, but that's what I meant.

Yeah, I meant on a team as well.
