Kings win the coin toss over Nets - Jazz will pick 6th

Do you think if it would've been a 3 way tie with the Wiz we could've used Pythagorean theorem to debate why the Jazz still came out in 6th?

in the last week, we could go as far as 4. Damn luck, and damn washington and sacramento, they lost ******** games

Or it could have been like last year when we were expecting a top-5 pick and then everyone else tanked while NY won a ton of games down the stretch. NJ had a very good chance of catching Detroit, LA Clippers, Charlotte and Milwaukee had Deron played well after the trade. They even had an outside shot at the playoffs. I'm very happy the pick ended up where it did. Jazz should get a pretty good wing or a solid 4/5 out of the pick. Then there are a lot of ways to go with the #12 depending on who drops or if there are trade possibilities for a veteran SF.

Hayward claiming the starting SG position takes some of the pressure off (as does Favors playing well given extended mins.). I think the Jazz can just draft the BP'sA. If they think a big and then a SG/PG at #12 is the better option, they can get by with CJ and Millsap at SF if needed and address that position with the GS pick next year or via trade or free agency when Memo's contract will be off the books. Only way CJ's option DOESN'T get picked up is if the Jazz draft a wing and pick up a starter via trade.

There is a 70% chance that the Jazz won't move up in the lottery.

There is a significant chance that one of the teams behind the Jazz will get into the top three, moving the Jazz back a spot.

The most likely draft position for the Jazz looks like 7 to me, unless luck is on our side. That means we'll be getting the last impact player available that hasn't been taken.
- Williams, Irving, Barnes, Knight, Kanter, Walker, ... meaning we'll be looking at Vesely, Vallanciunas, T. Jones, Montiejunas, and Biyombo.

Seems like we are in a good spot...
Posted this in another thread. While statistically the odds aren't in Utah's favor to move into the top-3, historically (if you don't believe in luck), they appear much better.

A breakdown of the past 10 lotteries (excluding 2004 because the Bobcats were automatically slotted with the 4th-pick).

Boi-oi-oi-oing.

I bet the Kings are wishing they'd lost that flip about now. They got jumped by two teams, including the one they beat for the coin flip. Bummer for them.

They are the Kings, they deserve disappointment. They lucked out last year when Cousins' behavioral problems knocked him down to them. This year they got the short end of the stick.

It seems that out of 1000 combinations, only 1 combination was affected and that went in the Kings favor. But I guess in an alternate universe where the jazz win the flip, the numbers that got them the 3 pick would have been the kings.

Idk
