Kirilenko Question

I try not to concern myself with your happenings, but your signature idiocy just jumped off the page.

You don't like my signature? I found it quite entertaining, actually, which is why it's there. Maybe I should be a full time bitch like you, and do nothing but complain and rip on everything...? That is so much cooler, maybe I'll do that.

We all agree that Andrei is getting paid way too much, duh. After the end of the next season, would you want to resign AK to 7-8m a year, or try to dump his contract and get another player in return?

During the Jazz's run after December I believe they went like 18 or so and 3. A lot of that was because AK came back to form, he had a conversation with Jerry and they both met eye to eye. We saw the Kirilenko of old, getting blocks, steals, assists, and actually scoring on offense.

Would you try to hold off and give Kirilenko a decent contract for his value now, or would you try to get rid of him for whatever you can get out of his contract?

IMHO, I have always liked Kirilenko for what else he does on the court. His block shots and steals are a nice thing he brings to the team that no one else can really do. Millsap can block, but doesn't get the steals. Deron gets about a steal a game, but doesn't block. Deron can obviously pass, but can't play 4 positions. Kirilenko is the only all-around player the Jazz really has. The next closest player like him is CJ, but just to a much lesser extent. Kirilenko has been working on his shot, but I even cringe when I see him take a contested shot.

I guess to sum it up, would you give him 7m a year for what he does on defense?

7-8M? No way in hell. The guy's overrated in the sense that he's put together about a half season's worth of very good play in the last three or four seasons combined. He's also always injured, can't shoot which for a wing is a problem (yes, yes I forgot he can play the 4) and can't create his own shot which is yet another problem for a wing. Really what he is is a hell of an athlete with some basic balling skills who has trouble staying healthy.

I'd offer him the full MLE and no more. If he doesn't want it, he can hit the road.

Man, Utah joining the PAC is really eating you up, isn't it?

Oh yes, I can hardly stand it. My least favorite team, one of the most obnoxious coaches, and easily the most ridiculous fan base/organizations is leaving my conference -- ya, I'm totally bummed. Good luck and good riddence.

In other news, how's the bronze holding up on your 3rd place trophy?

Haha, yeah, I don't know. I'm not too into the rivalry (raised as a Y fan, converted not too long ago), I just know that you are and I'm finding a crazy lack of discussion about it now that the word is official. And I'm a chode, so there's that.

What is there to discuss? The only thing this does is take away the crutch that Utah uses when they can't win it all. "Boo hoo... The MWC doesn't have an automatic bid, we were robbed, blah, blah, blah." Now is their chance to put up or shut up. Unfortunately for them, they are going to get exposed for the tùrd thumpers that they are. As a BYU fan, I really have no feelings about this other than, "Good luck, i still hate you.". Until college football changes the format of its championship, all of this posturing means jack squat to me. (as a casual fan -- I get it that it brings in more money, etc)

Heh, put Salty and Trout into a room with two blue walls and two red walls and see what happens. I'll stick to purple and a division that decides its champion on the field.

mmmmm....salty trout.

One major difference (besides length and girth), is I can admit when I'm wrong. Salty is the Bill O'Reilly of Jazzfanz. I should punch you in the tain for even saying such a thing.

If AK and Fes were to both be traded to the same team I'd probably become a sports bigamist. Not kidding.

Without a doubt. I really don't care about Fes, but wherever AK goes, I will be a fan. I have a sneeky suspicion that his game will be back to form once he gets out of Jerry's house.
