Knight vs. Kanter: lessons from previous drafts

And I disagree that the original post was asinine. I think it was an interesting perspective implying that GMs tend to overvalue 'bigs' relative to 'smalls.' Not that it necessarily has direct relevant to Kanter, which is I think what you're driving at. But again it may. I think it's a legit question for KOC to ask, "Are we possibly overvaluing Kanter because he's a big?" The answer may be no, but it's still something that I think he should ask himself.

Yeah we are not connecting :). I loved the ops post. My asinine comment was directed at the malone deal jimles put together.

Agreed. My brother lives in Portland and is a huge Blazers fan. This is a very sore subject for him, as he's always lamenting what might have been.

No it was to sepanols explanation of players good in college but busts in the nba. I too would have taken durant, but and injury free oden would not be a bust.

i didnt compare oden to kanter, i ment there r many determinants to decide the future of players, like he became bust due to health and like koufos failed to improve his game.
But its for sure that kanter is a very talented player. Im just against what you mean like just becuz he doesnt have stats in ncaa , he will possibly be a bust

Out of the original post, one question that could be asked is, "how many of the guards and centers drafted played more than one year of NCAA ball?" Kanter no and Knight one year, put that item into your research and I'm sure you'll have a reduced calulation. Garnett, Moses Malone and ahem, Kobe had only High school experience. The rest tend to be busts, yeah there's more I could list but just apply it to the posted players.
