Kobe possible Achilles tear!

Can you please provide some evidence for that? I've always thought of him as a pretty classy player. Notice how he complemented Hayward's game. If he was truly a jerk/bad competitor - why would he waste his time doing that?

Just for starters chasing Shaq out of town, which is what I was referring to when I said he could have won so much more.

Kobe's been a douche, for sure. But how long are we going to keep hating on a guy that by basically all accounts died 6 years ago?

This is a damn shame. I'm amazed at the sentiments from Jazz fans about this, I honestly had no idea there was this much class going around.

Kobe wasn't always a consummate professional, but I don't know what more you could want from a player on and off the court than Kobe Bryant for the last 5 years. People do grow up.

I guess he was totally professional when he got away with rape? ... did you forget

all that put aside he's an amazing basketball player.

aside form that everyone is talking about him hanging it up

well when ask if he was going to retire.. here is his response

Except he didn't rape anyone, and the scandal was a decade ago. Reading and knowing stuff is hard, I know.

you think Kobe just sleeps with his wife lmao ... seriously? ... yeah I read about it .. if he was such a pro why was he out screwing ho's ... and yes I know all about it

You know all about what? That all adultery is rape?

my point is he isn't always such a true professional ... do you see the likes of John Stockton out doing something similar? ... who knows if it was rape or not ... probably just a gold digger

Like I have already stated. Twice now.

What a bunch of fools on here...

We've had people wishing for a Kobe career ending injury, it happens, and now everybody is a Kobe fan.

I never wished it, but still... be real.

Kobe pushed his body beyond what he should have.

...and the same thing is going to happen to Lebron before it's over! When these guys push the envelope to the max, muscle out their bodies to the extreme, play with reckless abandon, never really try to protect themselves while on the court, fly through the air to leap tall buildings in a single bound.....THIS is what will happen! Both Stockton and Malone protected themselves! They gave 100%....but used there heads on the court better than anyone!

This.

I have mad respect for Kobe even with everything that's happened. He is one bad *** dude. I hope his career don't end like this.

I agree as well. I didn't want this. I am not a Kobe fan, but I didn't wish him an injury. Besides, if we do make the playoffs now, all we will hear is "if Kobe didn't hurt".

**** Kobe. With all of the ref-pampering, wife cheating, and the gigantic ego I just say that karma is a bitch.

I find it ironic that folks here have blasted al Jefferson, boozer, and ak for not being competitive yet they want to blast Kobe. Man oh man, if anyone on our team had half the heart and work ethic as Kobe, we would be a top seed. Kobe is an all time great. And like every all time great, he brings it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. So laugh and criticize Kobe all you want. But when al stands around on defense or half our team stands around chucking jumpers and just not giving a damn, remember that an all time great like Kobe would never loaf around like that. Had Kobe been drafted by the jazz we would have a few banners to show off and he would be more beloved that even mailman and St. John.

With Kobe, the lakers are a fringe playoff team. Without him, that joke of a team consisting of former superstars 10 years past their expiration dates, will be a bottom dwelling lotto team. I feel bad for them. I feel bad for Kobe. What he has meant for basketball has been huge. This is a dark day for basketball.

As a basketball fan I have always marveled at Kobe's talent and competitiveness, as a person he is flawed and has not always acted appropriately. As a teammate he has shown some immaturity and selfishness, however I also look at what he has accomplished and how he plays through pain. His willingness to play hurt also shows that he wants to help his team. He could have left the game last night after the first leg injury but he didn't because his will to win is above reproach. Whether you hate him or love him you cannot deny his basketball greatness. The guy plays hard and he wants to win badly even at the risk of hurting himself. I can respect that competitiveness.

I find it funny/strange how people judge athletes without really knowing the person or circumstances around the person. No one knows the entire story and no one on this board is perfect. People make mistakes and we are all flawed. Would you want people reminding you about something you may have done six years ago. As a basketball fan I never wanted to see any player go down with a serious injury, I was upset when Malone went down even though he played for the Lakers, I was upset when Memo went down (so were most Jazz fans). I think this is just sad for basketball and for Kobe. I hope Kobe can recover and close out his career the way he wants to. I certainly am not wanting the Jazz to back into the playoffs because Kobe got hurt. It just plain sucks as a basketball fan.

All the finger pointing about whose fault it is because he got hurt is just plain nonsense. How can you blame a guy for laying everything on the line to win? Besides injuries happen for all different reasons and are rarely predictable. Again, as a Jazz fan I hate Kobe the basketball player but as a basketball fan I respect his talent and drive to win, I hope he can fully recover and retire the way he wants to do but if he is done then I will respect what he has done on the court and leave all the judgement about his personal life to people who actually know him.

To me Kobe is a guy who has his beautiful wife at home taking care of his kids while he's not taking no for an answer with the hotel maid.

Great guy? Not so much. I think Kobe is scum and death it too good for him.

Count me as someone who will not miss him and who has no respect for Kobe in any way.
