Nothing Kobe has done has made me hate him worse than when he came in the league. He said he would refuse to play for any team, but LA or something like that.
I thought what an *******. He's not better than the league. He's not above the structure of the NBA. You have to enter the league, and have the honor to play for whoever drafts you. They are paying for that right, and you are lucky to get that. Finish out your contract, and leave if you desire. Dictating to the league before he ever entered showed me what a classless *** jockey he really was/is.

I hate Kobe.

Still feel bad for him though. He's the ultimate competitor, and you hate to see a guy of his level go out like that.

I still say he comes out and plays on sunday... with a bionic leg that adds 2 feet to his vertical jumping ability

Few thoughts: I don't like Kobe's attitude but I was starting to like his work ethic. Now I think he's just neurotic. Memo did the same thing, pushed his body to the limit and tore his acheles. The Jazz aren't in the playoffs yet, the Lakers still have several future hall of famers on their team who will now get a chance to prove that they can be the star on the team. Also, the Jazz still need to win their games. I don't like to see injuries be the determining factor, but it's not just talent that wins games, it's durability of the players, and Kobe's durability has run out. Corbin, love him or hate him, has kept his players fresh and they have the health and energy to keep going, while the Lakers don't. If it were SanAntonio, they would have rested Kobe except the fact that the playoff race was so close. Then they would have tanked to get a lottery pick. Not Kobe though, he bullied his head coach and then ran himself through a brick wall and injured himself.

Edit: and yes, or no, that wasn't a foul at all. Lakers lose the game if that bad call hadn't happened.

Lakers would have for sure lost if they hadn't got the usual and a little extra "Lakers at home treatment" ... you have to figure they pay all that money out in Luxury tax ...I'm sure the refs know before hand that there going to be fired or worse if they call a fair game ... they probably have meetings about how they can give the home team the edge ... David Stern himself has said in the past this is Entertainment and a game to go with it ... I SAY BOOOOOO!!!! on the hand they wouldn't have lost if Marc Jackson had let them foul Dwight Howard in the final minutes ... the way he was shooting GS would have won by several points.

I agree Corbin has the Jazz fresh and ready to win the last few games ... I sure hope they play a lot better in Minnesota

Kobe will probably be out the majority of the year next year, and with Dwight possibly leaving, they could easily trade Pau/Nash for assets/picks and tank hard for Wiggins. I really hope that doesn't happen, but it seems within the realm of possibility.

They wouldn't even need to really tank, just miss the playoffs. If they have any ping pong balls at all Stern will do what he has to do.

So, went to hoopshype and it looks like they are planning for him to be back in six months, and if he does his controversial blood treatment I could see it happening. No amnesty, no retire, hardly any time lost, they think he'll be back to start the season next year.

I think if he stopped playing basketball, he'd just die on the couch. No reason for his heart to beat anymore.

Oh, and he's getting the surgery, like today. no two week searching out opitons or whatever seems to happen with injured players, he's going in ASAP. Good for him.

This might be a blessing in disguise for la. They can now scratch this team and begin to rebuild. Kupcheck will then have the time and resources to focus on acquiring talented free agents. They will focus on our c4. Favors/kanter will leave. Why should they stay and play behind al/Paul/whatever vet we resign this offseason? It's hard to imagine that they won't sign at least one of our c4. Especially given how they have been treated. Hayward and favors in the purple and gold with Kobe as a role player would be wonderful... For them

well, that's morbid. and incorrect. I think everyone would agree that both Kanter and Favors will be worth the max when theiy become restricted free agents, which will be a contract similar to Derons at roughly 13-15 mil per year. thus, the Jazz would obviously match anything that the Lakers offer so the Lakers can't get them for another 5-6 years and by this time Kobe will be close to 40 years old and nothing close to what he is now. probably retired, though who knows with how his mind works. Oh, and the Lakers are way over the cap, so technically they can't offer anything over the midlevel anyway so unless the CBA is changed there isn't a snowballs chance in hell the lakers get our core 4.

I don't think so Tim.

After we offer Big Al the max and sign elton brand this summer we won't be able to match offers given to our c4. Besides, by then the majority of them will have made it clear that they don't want to come back. Using Locke's logic, if fans can and do have an effect on a player's decision for free agency then the coach's treatment of that player must have at least 100x more powerful effect. Kiss the c4 goodbye. Damn favors is gonna look great in the purple and gold.

But that's okay, we will be competing for the 8th seed. Expecting any better is fans acting spoiled.
