Why do you think he hasn't? What did Foye/Carroll do in training camp to earn minutes? Burks out played both guys in training camp. He should be playing over Foye because he has outplayed him, he has a year experience in the Jazz system and is part of Jazz future.

Burks has had flashes, but my suspicion is he's inconsistant staying with the game plan. His "game" is driving to the hoop and being "da man". Foye is a far better outside shooter, which we all know is something we need. When teams zone up on us, we need guys who can and WILL pass the ball, as well as spot-up shooters.
It would not surprise me if a young talented PG became available Burks would get traded, as he does not seem to be developing true NBA PG skills himself. Foye, when on, is a way better catch-and-shoot player, and a less talented PG.

I would be in favor of running Foye at PG with Burks and Hayward both on the court as a 2nd unit. So, in essence, Burks would be taking minutes from Tinsley. Hayward could facilitate the offense along with Burks and Foye.

Next year, maybe we don't keep Foye, we have a real back-up PG, and Burks can get the SG minutes.

Yes. Marvin is a true SF. He's a proven shooter and a very good defender. Burks is just potential at this point. Even CJ wowed us at times. Burks has played well in the summer league and in a few pre-season games. I'm very high on Alec. I think he could be a Maggette-like player. But Corbin is wasting his talent. If the rotation for this year and next is going to be Marvin-Carroll at SF and Hayward-Foye at SG, then we better get something for Burks. Otherwise, he's going to develop an attitude and probably demand a trade - and I wouldn't blame him one bit!

Why can't we just get rid of Foye and have Burks play his minutes? Burks can obviously score the ball, which is what you need in a 6th man. If I'm KOC I'm keeping Burks it's stupid to trade him. His value isn't that high (hasn't been consistently on the floor enough). And, you don't exactly know what you have in Burks (he could be a stud, ala D-Wade). The kid needs minutes to see which side of the fence we're going to be on.

I just don't get why everyone here is so convinced Burks is great. Abilities, sure. But I've yet to see him play a role on this team. Not once. I've seen him get a few minutes because of circumstances and when he gets those minutes he dominates the ball. It isn't like the other team scouted Burks. He goes off during garbage time often against the other team's second unit. Are his fans saying put him out there and make him the first (and maybe even second and third) option? Because the only way I've ever seen Burks play is as if he is the offense, he is the team, he is the superstar. So is he really ready to be "that guy" on our team? Because anything less and I haven't seen it in him. He's 120MPH non-stop out of control. It's provided some impressive moments and his physical abilities are there for sure. But are the people calling for him to get time really asking for him to do what we've seen him do so far? I'd love it if he could fill a role on this team, but I'm not ready to hand him the team.

KoC's coup of landing Mo and Randy and trading Harris for Marvin, then letting Miles walk, sure is lookin' good after just one game. These seemingly small moves seem to have had a huge impact. The overall balance of this team tonight was very impressive; we just dominated the boards!

....have you lost your mind??? It's ONE game! We have no idea what the Jazz will be this year after beating a team at home on a back to back night! Will they cut down on there turnovers from last year? Will they shoot a higher percentage? Will they ACTUALLY play some defense this year? None of those front office moves have been answered in the slightest.....after ONE game! I'd like to use a few other choice expressions on you right now, but my slate is clean and I don't want
to pick up any violations this early in the season.....so all I'm going to say to you is this: Are you sure your NOT "just dead yet?"
