KOC Making The Rules

Technical fouls shot by cheerleaders, nude.

Do you know anything about unintended consequences?

Bad idea.

I hate 3 second violations and really don't care how long someone is in the paint. If someone is in there too long, the other team should just adjust their game-plan rather than have the refs get involved.

...have you lost your mind? Do you know what you would have? Tantamount to a sumo-wrestling match, where players are pushing, shoving, heaving, and kicking their opponent in the badoobies! Without a 3 second lane, you'd have 6 guys in the paint, mostly right under the basket...yelling out "put um up....I got bounds!"

Teams who have the same number of letters in their location name as their mascot name (provided that the mascot name doesn't end in "s") get to select up to twenty games per year where they switch the contest to the golf scoring model (lowest total wins) by taking a twenty second timeout and notifying the scorer's table.

Have you watched college basketball? I think he means just for defensive purposes. The rule would still be intact for offensive players.

I really hope they do this. I think it's the best way. Give small times for first time offenders, and start increasing the amount of $$$ based on history and severity.

Also, the part about allowing players to knock the ball off the rim, I really hope that happens.

Monetary penalties need to be harsh though. Not $5,000. I would say 1/10th of a player's game check, then 1/5th, 1/2, whole, and so on. People will get the point.

What happens when human error comes into play and someone perceives something to be a flop that isn't actually a flop? You get 1/10th of your salary taken away? Idiotic.

Instead of shooting free throws on a 'shooting foul' you get one point and the ball back with 14 seconds.

Probably shave 30 minutes off a game.

On a serious note 2 years stay in college. Can't debate stopping some one from making a living if they can.

Trapezoid lane like in Europe force big out further and increase more passing.

As soon as the ball hits the rim it is fair play. No offensive goaltending.

I like the idea of the bigger court.

They should make the ball and court bigger. Then raise the rim. Let the players grow into it.

We have conquered lvl 10. Next level please.

years of college required is a CBA thing, not a competition committee thing. that's not changing until this collective bargaining agreement expires.

I think there should be a group of people that review games for obvious flops.

I think this is by far the best idea. If the NBA is serious about getting rid of flopping, they need to do more than just change the rule and then rely on the refs. We've seen how well that works already. I actually don't think they need to get crazy with fines, either. Start out with $5,000 for the first violation, and then increase it every time after that. I believe this could do wonders for the game, and I really, really hope this happens.

I like the "flopping committee" idea...

Maybe have the fines escalate with the number of flops with a player.

5k for the 1st
15k for the 2nd
25k for the 3rd
One Game suspension without pay for the 4th...

This would cause flopping to be cut back.

Obviously players could appeal...
