What's new

Kosta

Another example of not developing a guy because of vets ... he didn't get the chances here, so glad that he stuck with it.
Disagree. KK got a fair amount of playing time as a rookie (12 mins/per) and he was unremarkable. His 2nd season he couldn't shoot straight. He's not a very good rebounder for his size and is not aggressive. Denver wouldn't hesitate to upgrade at the 5...if they had someone better. Koufos is a decent backup, but he's a weakness other teams will exploit in the playoffs.

You missed games played. He got unmercifully put on the shelf for the remainder of the season in favor of Jarron Collins his rookie year and he was playing well. Pretty sure that broke him for the next 3 years.

Koufos has/had too many good things going for him to totally derail him because of mistakes of pure inexperience. He's not a world beater and no one said he was either, but there's infinite room in the NBA for 7-footers with no real weakness to their game (even if lacking obvious strengths).

Especially when they only make $3 million per year.

This can cause another war in the Aegean. I also heard of the Jazz receiving blame for Koufos putting on too much weight... That's a lame excuse imo. Should learn how to work your game into your body.

Actually it could help avoiding brawls in th future Türkiye-Greece matchups. I hope it won't though. I would love to watch these two kick each others *** then laugh about it.

Good for Kosta... I'll be honest I certainly never gave him a chance. I forget what game it was but he had a pretty sick dunk recently on national tv.

and speaking of castaways, Maynor is averaging 8 and 5 on .50 and .40 in the 7 games with the Blazers so far this year as Lillard's backup. Good to see him performing getting real minutes again.

I didn't think Kosta would last, so it is good to see him doing all right. Maynor's done surprisingly well with Portland. Who knows what might have been with OKC if not for the injury.

I don't know why I still hold a soft spot for Maynor from his brief time with the Jazz. Not just a soft spot but like a "this kid can play" spot. Still think he could be an option for our team though we're probably better off going the draft a PG route.

This is pretty accurate. Kosta did get some time at first during his rookie season, but then suddenly he just sat on the bench and I think that deflated his confidence because he actually regressed his second year.

This goes back to time machine time. KK was traded in the Big Al trade along with a boat load of draft picks. That was the year Boozer and KK jumped ship due to free agency and I think KOC was freaking out. KK had a good Orlando Summer League that year and maybe might have been MVP of the league. It was Maynor's draft year and then he got moved. To be fair Minnesota didn't want him and seems to me shipped him to Cleveland who then shipped him to Denver. It just seems if we had stayed the course we would have had KK and the draft picks for less money than Big Al.

funny, seems like mienosta didnt want kosta, but took him.
to get rid of Big al.
