Kragthorpe: Jazz fans need to get over it and root for Boozer

This is so laughable. If Boozer gets a title it will be despite him, not because of him. The guy you whose game you don't care for has absolutely carried Boozer to this point.

To be fair a big part of the reason Boozer's #'s are down is because Rose is an epic ball hog. He is AI 2.0. Plays exactly like him. I am very dissappointed that he is the MVP. I can't stand that type of player, expecially at the PG position.

Deron spoon fed Boozer tons of easy looks. Rose does not do this nearly enough.

What dues are they supposed to pay?

What makes a team or a city deserving?

Simple. If I like the team and/or city then they can be deserving. If I do not like them, they do not deserve to win anything at all (see: Lakers). If I am more or less indifferent to them, but they are doing well, then if they win it is ok, but they do not necessarily "deserve" it and I can use things like "they haven't paid their dues" to explain it. Or their championship will have an "asterisk" next to it.

"Paying their dues" is a valid reason. When he was broadcasting, Doug Collins would always say "You have to have your heart broken before you become a champion." Rarely do teams come out of nowhere (Thunder - only a 1st-rnd loss in the past 6 seasons) to win a title - without atleast knocking on the doorstep of the Finals in previous seasons. This conference finals is unique in every team outside of Dallas hasn't exactly been there before - although much of Miami's players have although not all w/the Heat.

So how did Magic Johnson pay his dues in his very first year in the league?

Jordan's Bulls struggled getting past Detroit. Shaq and the Lakers got taken to school by the Jazz and Spurs in the conference finals and semifinals. It took Rasheed Wallace to get Detroit past NJ. Wade and the Heat lost to Detroit in Game 7 of the ECF before winning the following year. Kobe's Lakers couldn't get past Phoenix twice, then lost to Boston in '08.

I believe I said, "rarely," not "absolutely never with no exceptions."

In this case I'm guessing his teammates payed the dues (Kareem, AC, Worthy, Rambus etc) not looking up the actual full roster but it is more of a team that pays dues not individual players.
