I think that the Jazz should go after Kwame Brown, KOC has already said that if he is going to use the remaining $2.5 million from the MLE it is going to be on a "big". The Jazz have already talked to Kwame's agent and I think Kwame would come to Utah for a 2/3-year $5/$7.5 million dollar contract. Thoughts?

Hmmmm, he isnt really a shot blocker, but he is 6'11 270 lbs. Only 28, if he could resurrect (or maybe I should say, actually be servicable for the first time) his career anywhere, it would be Utah. Suppoesdly Yao Ming called him one of the toughest post defenders he has ever played against also.

I think he'd sign for the minimum for a chance to play for a title in Utah.

Seriously, I'd take a flier on the guy for $2.5M. This team is going to have a bad-*** attitude with Deron, Raja and Millsap leading the way. Kwame could possibly give us 10-15 minutes of solid play. He'd come in at the 5 with Jefferson sliding over to the 4 in a big line-up.

I dont think he is that concerted about winning, just getting paid. He is worth more than a minimum contract. I would give him about 1.5-2 million per year, but Im sure someone will give him about 3-4 mill per year.

Kwame is just too much baggage. The jazz better not even consider signing that loozer

Baggage? I know he got arrested for driving on the wrong side of the road once, but other than that I think he is a good guy, probably lazy, but he isnt a distraction.

I'd do it. The Jazz seem to be able to get the most out of guys other teams have given up on. IF Kwame can even begin to scratch what he is able to do, it would help us. Obviously the guy is a huge bust in this league, BUT if we can pay him 2 mil and get some of what his flashes showed (and he did show some...a few..a bit..lol) it would help us out.

The real question is if Kwame is better than Fess.

The quick answer is yes.

A slightly longer answer is that he is a vastly better post and pick and roll defender. He is not much of shot blocker and he is a poor offensive player. But at 2 mill or so a year he would be a valuable spot player and injury backstop.

I know he got arrested for driving on the wrong side of the road once.....

...we just drafted the smartest guy in the whole country.....and you want to team him up with a guy who couldn't spell "cat" if you spoted him the c and the t? Kwame can't play in SLoan's system. You have to remember plays and know where to be on defense.

Defense? You haven't watched the Jazz bigs lately huh?

Brad Miller would be cool to sign. I would only ever want Kwame if he came dirt cheap and was a last option (meaning we couldn't sign somebody better).
